Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

Friday afternoon, 15:45.

"What do you mean you're robbing the Lourve?!" Sam shouted into the phone, her jaw surely agape in shock on the other end.

Lilo winced and massaged her temples from where she sat, legs crisscross-applesauce on a folding chair in Brandon's garage The Athenæum. "Trust us, we have a foolproof plan." She leaned closer to the phone that had been placed onto the table her and her friends sat around. "Us?? We??" A blue-eyed brunette—Anna—asked incredulously. "The only thing you did was sit around and play Block Blast while occasionally giving input and biting me!" She crossed her legs, giving the blue-haired girl a glare.

Lilo rolled her eyes sky-high, like she'd heard this all before. "At least I gave more input than Brandon—" She gestured wildly at the brown-eyed brunet, who was leaning against his workbench and nursing a 16.9oz bottle of Dr. Pepper. "—All he did was stand there and say "uh-huh" the entire time!" She whipped around to glare at him. "Were you even listening to the plan, huh?!"

Brandon glared right back at her. "Yes, I was listening, Lilo." He walked over, standing in between Victoria and Anna's chairs and tapped his pointer finger onto the blueprints that were on the table. "This," He said dramatically, as if he was going to say something full of wisdom. "Is a perfectly foolproof plan, Sam. Because... it is." He nodded proudly and glanced around the table as if expecting praise for his words of 'knowledge'.

Lilo's eye twitched dangerously. "I'm gonna kill you." She sat back in her chair and side-glanced the blue-eyed brunette next to her. "Anna, please explain to Sam why this plan will work. I can sense her 'disappointed-mom-friend' energy from here."

"I'm glad you can sense it!" Sam's yelling came through the speaker very loudly, and Anna sighed, reaching over to lower the volume of the call. "This is highly illegal, and quite frankly— logistically impossible! We have school on Monday! How are you expecting to travel to Paris, freaking France, rob a high-security museum by the way-, escape, and travel back before Monday?! Let's not forget that this is a literal crime— I mean guys, what are we doing?? WHAT IS YOUR PLAN HERE??"

The four who were currently in the Athenæum glanced at each other.

"Yeah guys," Brandon spoke up, glancing between the other three, chugging the rest of his Dr. Pepper. "What's our plan again?"

"BRANDON, I'M GONNA KILL YOU-"
