A gentle press of a kiss to his temple let him know that Gao Tu was leaving. He was usually the one to leave first due to needing to get the cafe to prepare breakfast rush. Normally Sheng Shaoyou would be next but he was working from home today since there was a rescheduled meeting with the Matsumoto deal. Hua Yong was off handling one of their clients and wouldn’t be home for two weeks. So that left him and Shen Wenlang didn’t want to get out of bed. However, he needed to handle a few things and he was still able to go in so he should.
Peanut clearly felt the same way about it because he felt a twinge in his stomach at the thought of leaving the warmth of their bed. Shen Wenlang forced himself to get up, grabbing his phone to check his messages while taking his time to get to the bathroom so he could wash his face. He didn’t bother turning on the lights as the auto track lights on the floor came to life as he moved into the bathroom. The far wall of the bathroom was just a massive sheet of glass. It was one way to allow natural light in but to prevent others seeing in. That's how when he was patting his face dry that he was able to witness a strike of lightning crack the sky wide open, paired with a roll of thunder. Heavy rain drops started to beat against the window.
No. Just hell no. Shen Wenlang decided as he felt Peanut move in agreement. He tossed the face towel on the counter before reaching for his phone. He sent a message to Secretary Mia to reschedule his in person meetings and to only send him the end of reports; he would be in the office tomorrow. Shen Wenlang also messaged Hua Yong to let him know he was fine just that he and Peanut were going to stay home with the older alpha so that he didn’t get worried about seeing Shen Wenlang’s meetings being rescheduled.
In their bed, Sheng Shaoyou felt the bed dip once more. He had heard Gao Tu leave and he’d thought that Shen Wenlang had mentioned going into the office. Sheng Shaoyou didn’t question it though as he’d been stirred once more when Shen Wenlang had gotten up from their bed. He’d almost rolled over and pulled him back into bed when he’d smelt the unhappiness coming from the younger pregnant alpha.
“Baby?” Sheng Shaoyou found himself calling the other as Shen Wenlang moved to snuggle up beside him, lifting his leg over his hip so that he could be as close as possible. There was a small bit of distress that had Sheng Shaoyou releasing his soothing pheromones.
“Staying home with you.” Shen Wenlang sleepily answered, lulled back from the calming effect of Sheng Shaoyou’s scent paired with Sheng Shaoyou wrapping his arm around his waist to keep him close. This was the best way to spend stormy days anyway - resting with one's mate and pup.
