Chapter Text
The New Wars
The occupation
Unity’s Haven has fallen! Because the Second Bohandi Empire was too focused on fighting the Superbohandi deviants, they ignored their alien enemies. While they managed to stop the Superbohandi offensive, they paid a terrible price for it.
In a stunning move, a huge Grey fleet appeared above Unity’s Haven and quickly used electronic warfare to disable half of the Bohandi fleet there. Vastly outnumbered, the remaining Bohandi ships, under command of admiral Wal’ker, retreated to New Bohus, the former capital of the Empire.
As Greys occupy Unity’s Haven, remaining Bohandi on the planet, including most of the Central Command, plan their next moves…
Chapter 1
Calmness
General F’al walked into the Central Command building. A lot has changed there during the last week, as almost elsewhere in the upper part of Unity’s Haven. Most of his colleagues went into hiding. He stayed here. He pretended to be ready to collaborate with the Greys and they appointed him their official liaison with the remnants of Bohandi military structures on Unity’s Haven. Which gave him many opportunities to collect intelligence and forward it to others.
The Central Command building was full of people. Several Bohandi collaborators (some genuine, some moles like him) were there, walking through the corridors. Both Celphalods and these shape - shifters Grey brought with them were moving around, performing menial tasks. And, of course, there were Greys everywhere, superwising.
F’al entered the main briefing room. The old table was still there, but most of the seats were now being used by Greys. F’al sighed as he took his seat. This was going to be a long day.
He listened as Greys were talking something about bringing more ships to the system. He was then told to prepare a speech to the planet’s population to inform them about all the equipment Greys required. He received a list. And it was quite long. Well, at least he had some intel to give.
After he left the building after the meetings ended, he headed toward the closest elevator. The city in this place was kilometers high, with levels upon levels, all stacked on each other. The city wasn’t covering all the planet, but it was covering most of the planet’s biggest continent. The slope from the ground near the beach to the highest level was 20 kilometers long.
F’al looked around. After he was fairly confident that tracked, he entered the lift and rode to the lower levels. The lower levels were dark places full of exiles, criminals, mutated Cephalods and Bohandi, toxic waste, cramped quarters and all kinds of nasty things. Even before the war, Bohandi could only barely keep order there. Since the war started, the lower levels could not be controlled and had to be kept locked down. Greys didn’t even bother to do that. Which made the lower levels a perfect place to be for all Bohandi military personnel that were trapped on the planet and did not agree to cooperate with the occupiers… Including most of his colleagues from the Central Command. And from there, they were leading resistance efforts against the Greys.
Soon after he reached the meeting point, another Bohandi came to him. They exchanged recognition codes.
-You have anything? - his contact said.
-Yes - F’al said. - A list of things Greys will want from our people… I am supposed to tell the people that.
-I don’t envy you - his contact said. - Where’s the list?
F’al gave his contact a pad he downloaded the list on.
-Here - he said. - I have to go now.
-Of course - his contact said.
F’al turned around, returned to the lift and rode to the upper levels.
