"Where did they go?" Charlie screamed over the clamor in the square.
Lysa and Connor were gone. One second they had been standing in front of her and the next gone. Not disappeared into the crowd. Just gone, with not even a single sign. Not a puff of smoke or glimmer. Just there and gone in a blink of an eye.
"I don't know," Vikram responded, looking almost as frantic as she felt.
It made no sense. They weren't even there on a case. They were just there to enjoy the festival and show Vikram some of the modern celebrations.
Now two of her Librarians were gone. She had lost them and she was going to have to find them. There was no other options.
"What do we do?" she asked.
"You start searching," Vikram said. "See if you spot them or anything odd. I'll call Ms. Astolat and see if she saw anything happen back at the Annex."
Charlie nodded and headed to start her search. There was no way that she wasn't going to find Lysa and Connor. She had to find them.
There were no signs of them in the crowd. She only hoped Vikram did better.
