Summary
Charleston sparkles with history and elegance, its antebellum streets and moss-draped oaks masking the rot beneath. Seven families, their blood vampiric rather than human, hold dominion — shaping politics, wealth and, a society who believes itself to be free.
At the bottom of this are not mortals, but Dhampirs, a race born of both worlds yet fully part of neither. Leon Hall and his friends — Tessa Clark, Brook Gardener, and, Alexander "Alex" Day — are such creatures scraping by through contract work that makes the city’s blood, secrets, and corpses disappear under the banner Brine & Ash Tidying Services.
However despite being the unsung heroes keeping those on top untouchable, that doesn’t mean they’re safe from the games played in the city. Especially when whispers of group a called the Glass Knives are involved. They speak of a revolution that will test loyalties, cause ambitions to collide and cause an already fragile balance to crumble.
