Fushiguro's Babysitter

Summary:

You end up catching feelings for your boss aka Toji Fushiguro whose kid you babysit. Eventually, you end up in his bed.

Notes:

Kinda just leaving the first part here to see if anyone's interested. Haven't wrote anything in a long time so I'm kinda rusty. The smut will be in part 3 if we get there, because I like to build up a story first. I also haven't wrote it yet because I have to study for Uni... I'll get to it I promise. Anyways, a warning as always: English is not my first language. Enjoy!

Chapter 1: The Kitchen Encounter

Chapter Text

Looking after Megumi was your side-job. Not many people babysit by choice, but for you it worked out perfectly. You were a young adult - which meant it was tough. Your flat was tiny, yet the bills looked as if you were living in a mansion. Even though your job was great, due to the fact that you were just starting your career, it didn't pay much. At least it was mainly remote and you only had to work for a couple of hours a day. You desperately needed the money and it turned out that a friend of a friend needed a babysitter. And that’s how you ended up becoming Fushiguro's babysitter.

Megumi was truly a delightful kid - smart, kind and calm. You often wondered if that’s what his mother was like, since he certainly didn’t get it from his father.
Right, Toji Fushiguro.
A man that was a walking mystery.
While working for them, you slowly uncovered more information about him. It’s been a year since you started and all you really knew about him was that he is in his late 30’s, his job is security related and that he enjoys Whiskey. You also knew that Megumi’s mother was really dear to Toji and she died shortly after birth - that piece of information was actually brought to you by the kid himself. Even though you knew little about the man, you were sure that he tried his best for Megumi and in your eyes, that was enough for you to trust him.

It was late and you just had put Megumi to sleep. Right after you read him a book of course. Heading for the kitchen, you rolled your shoulders and sighed. It wasn’t long until Toji would be back so you opted for making yourself a tea to pass time and unwind. Opening the cabinet you grabbed your favorite tea - the one that Toji bought just for you since he ‘doesn’t drink that fruity shit’. In moments like these, you felt like you belonged here. The house felt quiet and comforting, and when you thought of Megumi, a motherly feeling washed over you.

The sound of doors being unlocked snapped you out of your thoughts and you quickly turned the electric kettle on. Toji entered the kitchen while you were putting the tea bag in your mug.

“Welcome home Toji.”

You glanced at him with a slight smile. He let out a tired mutter that sounded a lot like ‘hey’. Per usual, the man walked over to the fridge and took out a bottle of whiskey. You already took out a glass and set it on the counter for him. He sighed as he poured some in. You turned to him and leaned against the counter with your hip.

“How was your day?”

“Tiring…bastards need to learn how to read, since ‘Entry forbidden’ sign is so fuckin’ hard to decipher.”

You hummed and nodded with an amused smile.

“I guess I got to do more reading exercises with Megumi then.”

Toji cracked a smile after he took a swing of his drink.

“How’s the brat?”

You crossed your arms and a genuine smile stretched on your face.

“He was very well behaved today. He made a new friend too.”

You said proudly.

“Really?”

Toji raised a brow and looked you up and down. Little did you know, the man was smitten for you. In his own, rough ways of course. At first he didn't give you much thought. But you grew on him, especially since Megumi adored you. You were hardworking, smart, kind, responsible and not to mention - simply gorgeous. And when you talked about Megumi like he was your own kid? His heart was doing somersaults. He was a simple guy and you were exactly what a simple guy like him wanted. Toji was confident that you were at least a bit interested in him too. He was observant, so he caught onto the way your gaze lingered on his back just a bit too long whenever he was going to work, or the way goosebumps rose on your arms when your hands touched on accident. He wasn’t going to force himself onto you though. At least not till he felt like it was the right moment.

Right now, as you were rambling about your day with Megumi at the playground, he couldn’t help the way his heart picked up. Was he shamelessly looking you up and down? Absolutely. Good thing you were too focused on your own rambling to notice. Not that he cared if you noticed or not. He was a grown man and had little to no shame. Maybe it was the fitted shirt you were wearing today, or the whiskey he was drinking, but you froze when the sudden question left Toji's mouth. Maybe now was the right moment?

“You got a boyfriend Y/n?”

Huh?
Your mind glitched for a second. You sometimes talked with him about your life and him being very blunt, he’d sometimes ask awkward questions without a care in the world. To be fair, it was kinda hard to get used to that. At least that’s how you explained to yourself the warmth that travelled to your face so suddenly. You managed to let out a choked ‘huh’ sound, to which Toji’s smile only grew.

Fuck you were so cute like that. He chuckled softly and drank the rest of his glass contents.

“What’s wrong? It’s just a question, Doll.”

Oh, it was anything but ‘just a question’ but he loved the sight of you so shocked.

“W-What? Nothing’s wrong, you just caught me off guard.”

You explained yourself. You took a breath to calm your quickly beating heart.

“Does it have to do anything with my job?”

You didn’t know why you turned so defensive. Probably because you were trying to bury the weird feeling inside your chest deep down. That feeling that appeared every time you ate dinner together like a family or when he’d buy your favorite snacks, just because. It felt nice and these were the moments when you looked at Toji differently - not like he was your boss, but a single man that was hella’ attractive. Nevertheless, relationships were messy and you didn’t wanna risk losing Megumi and this job… and just maybe, Toji too.

“No, but it has to do with me wanting to know.”

Your lips formed an ‘o’ shape as you stared at him, a bit taken aback. Toji was anything but shy, so he stood his ground with a smirk on his scarred lips and a playful look in his eye.

“I don’t think we should discuss that then.”

You cleared your throat and tried to keep your composure. Toji rolled his eyes and made a ‘tsk’ sound. He was annoyed that you were trying to act so professional, even though he knew damn well you felt similarly to him.

“Alright.”

He shrugged as if the topic was really done, but at the same time he watched you carefully, as if to see if you’ll crack once he stares enough.
A quiet and awkward moment passed between you before you walked over to the sink and washed your mug. Toji was about to go upstairs when you felt the word vomit coming out.

“I don’t have one.”

If you could, you would slap yourself right now.
How stupid were you.
You made a cringing face at yourself and Toji froze in his place. You heard a low chuckle coming from him and he glanced back at you with a proud grin.

“Good to know.”

He said and left the kitchen.
