Chapter Text
The Drizzle was almost invisible to Lex, its presence only shown by the gray sky and chilly airs that blew through the window. The hospital sheets were enough to keep him warm but he couldn’t close it, not yet.
He was waiting for a visit from a certain someone.
Although that someone wasn’t exactly very punctual, barely making it to their last date.
Still, Lex's patience never wore thin when it came to them, everybody else though? Not a chance.
Suddenly he heard the door open. He whirled his head towards it.
“Mr Luthor?" The nurse said, "You have a visitor, his name is….” She rechecks her board.
“Clark Kent. Do you know him?”
Lex’s eyes widened at the name mentioned and then slightly narrow.
“Yes”.
“Okay, you can pass Mr Kent.”
The nurse stepped aside for Clark to come in, he thanked her as she closed the door.
He could see Clark’s hair was wet and so were the small bouquet of flowers he had.
Ah, I see my patience was rather rewarding, Lex mused.
Unsurprisingly his clothes were almost dry, absorbing some of the droplets from the suit underneath. Even so, Lex appreciated the effort.
With Clark now by his side, Lex spoke.
“Superman”.
Clark sighed, his expression slightly furrowed.
His eyes had a tinge of sadness as he looked at Lex.
