Summary
He's not stupid. And contrary to popular belief, he's not weak either. He knows this as certainly as he knows anything, the mantra a core part of who he is. He reaffirms this belief every morning, stamping his pride into churning muscles and sweat-soaked skin.
I am worth the effort this takes, he thinks, pushing himself forever onward. I am strong in mind and in body. I am worthy. I am enough.
It seems like such a simple thing to believe, but Maito Gai has had to fight through fire to hold it inside of him and keep it.
