“This game is f****n rigged,” Bakugo decided after losing the fifth round of the card game.
“Guess we can add ‘Go Fish’ to the rigged list,” Sero stated, pulling out a small notepad and pencil. He quickly wrote something down.
“Wait, do you just keep a list of every game Bakugo has called rigged?” Denki chuckled.
“Yep. So far, it has Mario Kart, Boomerang Fu, Old Maid, The Game of Life, Monopoly, and Go Fish,” Sero answered.
“Maybe we should move on from games and instead have like, a deep conversation or something,” Mina suggested.
“Not sure you idiots are capable of ‘deep conversation. Except maybe Ears,” Bakugo grumbled. “I’m not staying here for that, good night!” And with that, he’d stomped out of the room.
“Aww, he never stays to sleep in the same room as us,” Mina pouted.
“You think Bakugo would be caught dead sleeping in your room? I can’t imagine him wanting to sleep in pink overkill,” Jiro replied.
Mina pouted a little more before moving on. “Well, we’ll just talk without him!”
“Talk about what?” Kirishima asked.
“We can talk about Valentine’s Day! That’s in a week. Does anyone have someone they’re planning to ask to be their valentine?” Mina began.
“Nah, I’m good,” Kirishima decided. “There’s not really anyone I’d want to ask. I’m fine to just hang out with friends instead of having a date.”
“Yeah, probably the same with me,” Mina agreed. Sero nodded as well.
“What about you, Kamibabe? You said something about preparing a Valentine’s Day surprise during dinner. Is it for someone specific?” Mina continued.
Denki’s cheeks grew red. “Yes, it’s for someone specific.”
“Ooh, who is it?” Mina squealed.
“For… For my crush. You already know who that is,” Kaminari admitted.
Mina squealed even more. “You’re finally confessing to her? What’s your plan?”
“I’m not telling.”
“Is it because she’s-” Kaminari covered Mina’s mouth before she could say anything else. He was pretty sure the next words were going to be ‘in here’, and that would practically be a reveal, as everyone knew he and Mina were solely platonic.
“Can we just move on?” Kaminari asked as he removed his hand from his pink friend’s face.
“Fine,” Mina sighed. “We can talk about who we think should get together instead!”
“Of course you’d suggest that,” Jiro muttered.
“First off, who agrees that Midoriya and Uraraka are totally crushing on each other?” Mina began.
It was much later now. Everyone was asleep, except for Kyoka, who sat outside on the balcony, wrapped in a blanket, lost in thought. She couldn’t help overthinking who Kaminari had a crush on. She’d just come to terms with her crush on him, but what if he liked someone else?
It would make sense. Why would Kaminari like her? Other girls were much prettier and more interesting. She wasn’t the type of girl who got a guy’s attention. And she tried to convince herself she was fine with that.
She sighed and headed back into Mina’s room. She continued her thinking in her sleeping bag, smiling as she lay eyes on Kaminari. He was peacefully sleeping and looked so relaxed. The moonlight from the window reflected off him, dousing him in a soft glow.
When had she let herself fall for this idiot?
