Chapter Text
Her fangs sank deep into the pale girl's skin, and her eyes grew dark with bloodthirst and lust. The moonlight gleamed ominously in the sky, casting a soft glow over Veronica's body as she claimed another victim in the pure of night.
"Hush... It'll be over soon.." She whispered as her 'lover' whimpered in pain.
She looked up at Veronica with pleading eyes before they grew empty with the new arrival of death.
"It's a shame. You were actually quite pretty..." Veronica whispered, retracting her fangs from the poor girl's fresh corpse.
She laid the body down by the nearby river, sighed as she looked up at the sky, then suddenly ran off, the only sound heard being her sinister giggles. But, on her way back home—back to living a 'normal' teen girl's life—she encountered another girl, one she recognized.
"Heather?! Why are you out here so late?" Veronica asked, slowly approaching. She'd have to pretend to have been taking a walk or something.
"Veronica? It's late... I dunno? I was just getting back from a party. Why are you out this late?" The girl in red asked, looking Veronica up and down a few times.
"Midnight stroll!" Veronica responded almost immediately, now walking beside Heather. Heather raised an eyebrow but didn't question it.
"Okay...? Well, did you want to walk home with me?" She offered, unconsciously reaching down to hold Veronica's hand.
"Yeah, sure..."
"Hey, I actually wanted to talk to you about something..."
Heather looked up at Veronica, meeting her gaze for a second or two, noticing the odd look in her eyes.
"Go on, chérie."
"So... this... thing we've been doing... I think, uh... maybe we could be more than... friends with benefits? I dunno.. I think I'm actually starting to feel something... And I... I don't know what to do with the feeling..." Heather whispered nervously, looking away from Veronica's piercing blue eyes.
Veronica raised an eyebrow. She never truly felt romantic attraction, being a vampire and all, but with this new confession, she felt a strange loyalty and dedication, as if her heart had already vowed to protect and keep Heather safe from anything and everything. After a moment she realized she hadn't responded yet.
"Oh.. uhm... Yeah, I've sorta been feeling the same way about you."
She squeezed Heather's hand tighter, listening to Heather's racing heart, smelling her anxiety as it lingered in the air.
"Wait... Really, Ronnie!? You mean, we can be exclusive?" Heather asked, almost excited for the first time in forever. Veronica nodded, kissing Heather's forehead as they finally arrived at her house.
"Of course, my Colibri," Veronica said, walking Heather up to her doorstep. "We'll talk more about this later. Stay safe, Belle Me..."
And with that, she continued with her night, heading back home.
