Work Text:
if zhang hao could choose just one thing to keep in his life above all else, he would choose his daily routine with hanbin. It didn’t matter how stressful his day at work had been, how exhausted he was, or if sometimes his depression tried to swallow him whole. he always would have that tiny dose of happiness waiting for him the moment he got home and found hanbin there.
hanbin had become his place to come back to, his home. the one person with whom hao could simply relax and exist as himself. no judgment, no pressure.
he was thinking about this again, on that particular day, as soon as he stepped out of the shower and spent at least three whole minutes just standing there, quietly staring at hanbin sitting on their couch. his boyfriend, who was supposedly waiting for him so they could have dinner, hadn’t even noticed him yet. he was too absorbed in whatever game he was playing on his phone.
hao smiled, that very specific smile he wore when he was about to torment the poor soul, and walked toward him.
“hanbin,” he called, settling onto the couch.
he didn’t get hanbin’s full attention, just a distracted “hm,” the kind that meant go on, i’m listening… kind of.
“if i tell you a secret, you promise you’ll keep it?”
the word secret must have triggered something, because hanbin dropped his phone immediately.
“of course,” he said, now staring at him with full curiosity.
“i think i like you.”
the look on hanbin’s face was priceless. hao had teased him like this plenty of times, but it never failed to rage-bait him.
“what do you mean you think you like me?” hanbin asked, pouting. “what happened while you were in the shower? do you hate me now? do you want me dead?”
hao just bursted out laughing. hanbin was glaring at him, the pout just getting bigger.
“okay, dramatic baby,” hao said, laughter stopping as soon as he looked right into the eyes of the man. “i love you.”
the pout didn’t disappear, but hanbin’s expression did soften. hao leaned in to kiss him, and in that moment it felt like all the affection he carried for the hanbin filled the whole room.
“okay,” hanbin murmured when they finally pulled apart. “much better. now let’s have dinner before we have another problem.”
hao frowned, eyeing him from head to toe until he spotted the very obvious bulge in hanbin’s shorts. the kiss wasn't even that heated.
“oh my god,” he groaned. “you’re such a perv...”
