Lets all Meichae out
megan definitely likes yoonchae. it’s been clear from the very beginning, so long as you actually understand what she is like as a person and how she treats and reacts to her relationships. for starters, the interest was always there. megan found yoonchae cute in dream academy and wanted to include her in everything; at first it was only because she saw herself in yoonchae after going through that same cycle as a young teenage girl getting into the program, but it develops into a closer friendship where they are both comfortable with each other. however, her interest in yoonchae gets sour real fast when the cracks finally widen in megan’s psyche. all the built-up stress and pressure from the prospects of debut impacts her negatively, and as she always has growing up, she has to take it out on someone. and who else would she take it out on except for the girl she’s been obsessed with all this time. she can’t stop noticing yoonchae, can’t stop thinking about yoonchae, and whilst that sometimes manifests positively (like in all of her Nice interactions with yoonchae such as randomly calling her pretty), it also often manifests negatively. she always notices yoonchae, and that ticks her off. why is yoonchae answering questions she wants to answer? why did yoonchae take her time slot? it’s on and off because megan’s mental health is also a rollercoaster of its own. she gets her shit together when she realizes it’s affecting yoonchae negatively, and it should theoretically be smooth sailing from there with how much time they spend together, but it’s not.
megan starts seeing a guy (who, behaviorally, can be similar to yoonchae. no don’t read into that) and she starts going out more often, and for once, yoonchae isn’t invading her mind. but the guy she’s seeing is pissing her off, and she has to cut it off, and when she cuts it off she… immediately goes back to yoonchae? and the obsession rears its head again. this time, however, yoonchae is in the process of moving on, and she’s become incredibly close with dani. megan can’t be normal about that, obviously. she has to stake her claim every time; she has to hold yoonchae’s hand, she has to cling to yoonchae, she has to include herself in discussions about yoonchae. it pisses her off seeing that yoonchae is getting closer to someone else, because yoonchae is supposed to be hers. she’s back with the obsession, back with vying for yoonchae’s affection and attention, and she’s using fanservice as an excuse to act these things out. because she’s becoming more aware of her feelings and is scared of rejection from a yoonchae who doesn’t seem as malleable as before. and even then, she still can’t act normal about yoonchae. she simply isn’t. she loves her. she’s obsessed with her. and these things have been true for a very long time. megan is crazy, isn’t she? crazy in love, or whatever beyoncé said. god, i love meichae.

When KATSEYE was presented to the public as a tightly curated HYBE project, fans were told to focus on the music and the work; romance hadn’t been in the equation.
The keyword here is told, because we should know by now to never trust the neatness of a PR line.
Last week, that gravity seemed to bend around Megan — member of Katseye, ranked fifth — as she found herself at the center of fresh dating rumors, following a spark in fans noticing and commenting on a string of interactions she’s had with a man named Jonah Abraham, member of boy group Boyliife (will this be the new generation’s It Couple? Hmm… )
The initial spark: the pair were spotted on the same buggy at Lollapalooza, with Jonah’s arm across the back of her seat — a casual gesture, some said; an intimate sign, others said. The moment was captured and shared on numerous social media platforms, though primarily on Twitter and Tiktok.

Later, a photo surfaced from a party showing Jonah with his arm around Megan in a backhug while his lips appeared pressed to her hair — an image taken and uploaded by @maxamillionpolo (on Instagram) that sent fandom servers into a frenzy.

…this comes hot on the heels of similar buzz around fellow member Daniela, who was recently the subject of her own dating sightings — a narrative thread that has some fans framing a trend. And yes, both of the alleged boyfriends are named Jonah.

so im just up wondering why meichae has so much content this era, and im pretty sure this is a direct link to the ‘me and yoonchae kiss all the time’ quote. with the beef timeline confirmed to be pre-debut (before the hair color change) and through “touch” promotion, and kiss gate happening before ‘gnarly’ (or a little after?) ive concluded that The Event megan’s referring to happened in SIS era. translocating its position to like … mm … around the time they filmed weekly idol in Korea. ok stay with me. when Megan’s asked what she’s grateful for on weekly idol, she puts down “me and Yoonchae have been getting really close recently” or something similar. I mean, considering the beef timeline this means they JUST made up. and hello. the oldest phrase in the book: kiss and make up? I can see them saying that to squash the beef as a joke and then, like, both of them leaning in as a bit but then their lips really do touch and they’re squeal-y and embarrassed about it.
then beautiful chaos rollout started and they’re on this new, great footing: megan’s inviting yoonchae out with her friends, meichae lives, megan trying to kiss yoonchae’s face, ok again: ‘me and yoonchae kiss all the time’, +the fans are eating it up. I know mitra is emailing the other HxG execs like: ‘their visual chemistry is so fcking refreshing< 33. let’s keep doing this.’ agree?

Summary:
Megan had gotten into Ninjago approximately three months ago, which she’s aware is extremely late to the party, considering the show has been around for years. Better late than never, right?
She'd started watching it as a joke, something to put on in the background while she did other things, but then she'd actually gotten invested in the characters and the plot. Before she knew it she was binging entire seasons in one sitting and reading fanfiction at 3 AM.
And then she'd discovered the Tumblr fandom.
Which is where she'd encountered her nemesis, archenemy, devil of her eye, worst person alive, blah blah blah: chipoftheyoon.
Or: Megan and Yoonchae are roommates in college, both cursed with an unfixable Ninjago addiction. Neither of them is aware of the other's addiction, nor their less-than-savory online activities. The inevitable discovery simultaneously ruins and fixes everything.

The thing about moving into a dorm room is that you’re supposed to show up with a reasonable amount of stuff. Clothes, toiletries, maybe a laundry basket and some snacks. Normal things that normal people bring to college — at least, according to Lara, and her dad, and other people considered more "reasonable" and "responsible" than Megan (whatever that means).
Problem one: Megan is not a normal person.

Nature of Complaint:
I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding excessive noise from Room 414 during my stay on the night of November 24th.
Beginning at approximately 11:47 PM and continuing until well past 2:00 AM, I was subjected to EXTREMELY loud talking, laughter, and “rhythmic thumping” against the shared wall between our rooms.
At around 12:00 AM, they appeared to be talking about a… beef of some kind? I was rather concerned that they’d started cooking steak in their room. No fire broke, thankfully.
At one point, I heard very clear female voices speaking in what I believe was Korean, followed by more loud. LOUD. Laughter.
I called the front desk at 12:30 AM to complain, and was told that security would “look into it.” Security apparently did not look into it, because the noise continued for what felt like a decade.
I am a light sleeper and this disturbance significantly impacted my ability to rest. I had an important business meeting the following morning at 8:00 AM and arrived exhausted.
I request a partial refund for my stay and assurance that this will not happen again.
Please stop letting children stay at your hotel.

DO YOU SEEEEKMDEKMR. second point in my thesis. they gravitate toward each other. woahhh another space metaphor JK JK they gravitate like magnets. in every video every photo every appearance theyre always finding each other. always standing next to each other. always whispering to each other. always SMILING at each other.
and like. okay i know some stuff that i probably shouldnt know but im gonna say it anyway because someone needs to this is important this is for the plot. megan keeps one of yoonchae's hair ties on her wrist at all times. even when she doesnt have her hair up. yoonchae has megan's hoodie in her room and sleeps in it. they have matching rings that they got “for fun” but they never take them off. like ever. megan knows yoonchae's coffee order down to the exact temperature. yoonchae knows exactly how megan likes her eggs cooked. these are not “just friends” things. these are “im in love with you” things.
