Work Text:
While running from the Phantoms, Tyler had tripped and fell on the ground.
The whole group winced as they heard the crunch coming from his arm, followed by him screaming in agony but, with the Phantoms in toe, they didn't have the time right then to assess his injuries.
It wasn't until they arrived at a safe location that they were able to see his arm was very clearly broken.
The Kids did the best they could to care for his arm, but there was limited time before their alarms went off.
When he awoke, he still felt that horrible pain in his arm. But, of course, his arm wasn't truly broken. No, it was only broken in his shadow, the same as Ashlyn's haircut.
That day at school, Aiden noticed the other boy clutching his arm and pulled him aside into the bathroom right before lunch.
"Does it hurt?" the blonde asked. Tyler nodded. He didn't need to explain that it was really just a phantom pain. He didn't need to explain that the regular remedies would do nothing.
Aiden understood.
So, instead of trying to fix it, Aiden simply leaned down and kissed the boy's arm, then instructed him to be gentle to himself.
"I'll take care of you tonight, okay?" Aiden told him. Tyler smiled.
This white boy is gonna be the death of me...
