Summary
The evening is endless affection beneath the glaze of amber sundown. It's kisses from Jean and the warmth of his body, the scent of his skin that floods Kevin's world for hours that he tries and fails to keep count of. It's the familiar tender intimacy. It's when Jean notices Kevin slipping away into dissociation's constraining embrace.
All evening plans are set aside as Jean prioritizes helping his husband feel better.

So caring. There's so much care in his every word, his every action it makes Kevin's heart ache so painfully he needs a moment to catch his breath. Still, he quips. “Say, even If I ever felt like hurting myself, I'd never seek your help with that. We both know that of all people you're the least capable of doing such a thing.”
Jean lets out a soft snort — it's clear he can't argue with that.
