   Darius is cross legged on a rock, silently observing the herd of ankylosauruses, and scribbling in his field guide: most of it unintelligible when Ben glances over his shoulder at him. The dappled sun traces the back of his neck, and just enough of a breeze whistles through the trees that the burning heat is reduced to a pleasantly warm temperature. It’s far too nice a day for anything to happen.

   But still, Ben stands on watch.
