Work Text:
It was another average day as the Comet Observatory drifted peacefully through space. Lumas were playing, the Beacon shone as bright as ever, and a certain plump princess was wandering around, searching for someone.
“I swear, I saw them running around here somewhere…where could they have hidden?” Rosalina pondered, idly rubbing her gut as she wracked her brain. She had sworn she had checked through every nook and cranny the Observatory had to offer, at least, those she could fit through with her newfound size.
“Hello? Where are you? I’m starting to get worried, you know, so come out please?” she beckoned, only to get no response. She huffed, clearly at the end of her rope.
“Well, there is one dome I’ve yet to check…” she mused, making her way to the Garden, one of the harder-to-reach domes of the Observatory. Tentatively, she stepped on the teleporter, beaming up to the near tip of the spacecraft. She looked in and…
…found you, rolling around in the grass, giggling happily with an expression Rosalina could instantly recognize. One that meant there were absolutely no thoughts rattling around in that old noggin of yours.
“Oh, baby, is this where you were? Playing in the grass? Without telling me?” she chuckled, before laying down beside you. It had only been a couple of days since you had agreed for her to become your caretaker, and already, it had felt like you were living in a safe haven, one where you could be yourself and allow yourself to be coddled to no end by this chubby woman. That also meant that you found yourself causing quite a bit of mischief in your younger state, but clearly, that only made Rosalina more endeared to you.
“I thought you were too scared to use the teleporters, baby. You just love causing trouble for me when you’re like this, eh?” she continued. “But you know what troublemakers get in this house?” she giggled more as you tilted your head in absolute confusion like you always did in this state.
“The tickle monster!” she said as she started to affectionately tickle your tummy, eliciting more happy giggles which were like music to her ears as you wiggled around. After thoroughly tickling you to the point of exhaustion, she laid back down with a sigh. “Oh, you’re too precious, baby. Even when you make me worry. I needed to find you so I can tell you something, actually.”
You rolled over to her, eyes wide and innocent. “So…some friends invited me over to hang out…and…are you okay being without Mama for a little while?” she elaborated. “I-I promise, it won’t be for long, I just…” she trailed off as you cut her off with a scared whine. Mama…leaving? Such a thought had never crossed your infantile mind, and yet, you felt like crying if she were to leave you alone, even if just for a few hours. As Rosalina processed the distress you were in, she quickly entered Mama mode and held you close to her. “Oh, shh, shh, shh, I’m sorry, I’m sorry…” she hastily apologized, “I’m sorry for even suggesting that, you’re still too little to handle that…don’t cry…”
Thankfully you managed to calm down in no time at all, still clutching onto Rosalina like a lifeline as she considered her dilemma. “Hmm…I can’t leave you alone like this…but I can’t cancel with them again…they are still my friends…”
She sat there and pondered for a few minutes, before an idea struck. “Baby…would you be willing…to go with Mama to see her friends? I know you haven’t met them, so it might be a bit scary, but I promise, they’re fun people…” she offered, gently rubbing your back. The idea did scare you a little, you had to admit. Meeting new people was never your strong suit, even less so when regressed. But you were itching to see new places past the Observatory you had now called home. And you would be spending time with Mama all the while, so you couldn’t possibly feel unsafe. Nervously, you nod your head.
“Oh, thank goodness…I know that took a bit of courage on your end. But hey, now we get to have our own little adventure! Doesn’t that sound exciting?” she said, picking you up as you cautiously nod again, before going to get your clothes changed for the outing.
As you sat in the Bedroom, slipping out of your pajamas and into something more comfortable for the day ahead, you wondered how this will go. Would your regression kick in at a bad time, or would you be able to keep it under wraps around Rosalina’s friends? Those thoughts were quickly cut short as Rosalina walked into the room, crownless, but wearing ripped jeans with the button undone (probably not by choice), some stylish sneakers, and most shockingly, a black t-shirt with the words “WIDE LOAD” printed on it in big, white letters. The shirt itself was a size you couldn’t reckon yourself seeing in any store with how huge it was, yet on Rosalina, still was unable to cover up her admittedly cute belly button.
Before you could say anything, she interjected, “I know. Not the most flattering description. A joke gift, I’m certain. But I still think I can make this work. We’ll see who’s laughing. Plus, it’s surprisingly comfy.” She twisted herself around in front of the nearby mirror for a little, drinking in her colossal size and how she still looked quite pretty in her opinion.
After that, she beckoned you over, leading you to the Engine Room of the Observatory, which had been expanded to include a garage. As you two entered, you saw Rosalina’s many racing cars and bikes filling the space. She eventually found the one car most suited for your road trip: a yellow sports car she called a Honeycoupe. After gently placing you in the back seat and fastening your seatbelt, she (with a little effort) placed herself in the front seat, starting the ignition, as the engines growled smoothly to life. She then carefully drove the car to the Warp Pipe in the back of the room. You closed your eyes a bit nervously as you prepared for entry, Rosalina reassuring you with “Don’t worry, little one, this’ll be a safe drive. I’ve done this route plenty of times.”
As soon as you enter the pipe, you pop out in what seems to be a canyon of some sort, with a clear blue sky overhead. You let your eyes wander a bit, taking in the various cliffs and plateaus as Rosalina drove along the dirt roads. “Enjoying the scenery, honey?” she remarked, which you replied with a content hum. The two of you soon found yourself near a gas station, a small restaurant off to the side, apparently named “Yoshi’s”. Rosalina pulled into the drive-thru, as the blue Yoshi running the place popped its head out the window, ready to take orders.
“I’ll have my usual.” Rosalina quickly responded, “And a kid’s meal for them.”
The Yoshi signaled OK and quickly got to preparing the order. After a few minutes of waiting, the Yoshi came out with the orders: a small cheeseburger and apple slices for you, and a gargantuan triple-pattied burger and fries for Rosalina. As soon as Rosalina got into the nearest parking space, you two soon got to eating. You took relaxed, small bites, smiling happily at how Rosalina had accommodated you, making you feel small like this. Meanwhile Rosalina herself was gorging herself with aplomb, only taking breaks to wipe the grease and sauce from her mouth. As you two finished up, you noticed Rosalina loosening her pants a bit more, before resting her growling gut on the dash, and…
“BWOORRRP!”
She sighed, gently massaging her tummy as you giggled a little bit. “Aww, did you find Mama’s tummy funny, little one?” she cooed. “It might be quite…improper to let out a belch like that…especially in my…current state.” she mused further, acknowledging the fact that her pants were almost completely off with how much space her belly now took up. “But, if you like them, Mama will let you listen.”
After tucking in her belly back under the steering wheel, she turned the engine back on and wheeled out of the canyon with you in tow, making your way to the city. As you drove down the bustling highway, you found yourself drowsing off in the back seat, as Rosalina put on some lullabies on the radio to soothe you further. “Feel free to take a nap if you wish, little one. I won’t disturb you.” Rosalina whispered. With that, you let yourself sleep, only occasionally letting out a little snore or a tiny whimper as you dreamt.
…
“Hey. Little one. We’re here.” You heard as you found Rosalina at your side, gently carding her fingers through your hair as your brain started to register. Your bleary eyes awoke, staring up at your destination: a lavish, red-roofed castle. As you responded with a small “wow” at the sight, Rosalina helped you out of the car, keeping your hand firmly intertwined with hers as she led you inside.
“Now, like I said before, my friends are very nice people and I’m sure they’ll love your company. But just know you can stick close to me if you feel nervous, okay?” she reassured. You gently hummed, never leaving her side as you walked through the castle. The two of you walked till you arrived at the doorway to a cozy-looking living room, two women sitting on the couch, a blonde and a brunette. As the two noticed Rosalina’s entry, the blonde attempted to gently welcome her, before being quickly cut off by the brunette doubling over in laughter.
“BAHAHA! Oh my god, you actually wore it?!” she guffawed, pointing to Rosalina’s “WIDE LOAD” shirt, the sudden loudness causing you to hide behind her.
“Daisy!” the blonde retorted, pinching the brunette’s ear. “You know she’s sensitive about her weight right now! I never thought you could send something like that!”
“It’s fine, it’s fine, really.” Rosalina interjected. “I think it looks quite nice on me, actually. I don’t wanna start this hangout with drama anyway. Besides, I…brought someone with me.” she continued, gently coercing you out into view.
The two girls immediately stopped bickering as they glanced over, as you nervously fidgeted, still feeling the urge to hide behind your caretaker.
“Aww!” the two softly swooned, making their way over to you. “Are you the little one Rosa keeps talking about?” the blonde questioned, patting you on the head. “It’s so nice to meet you! My name is Peach, and she’s Daisy. I never thought you’d be this cute in person!”
You could only manage a small “hi” to these new faces, leaning into Peach’s headpats a little.
“They might be feeling a bit tiny right now.” Rosalina clarified, “They’re a bit shy.”
The two of them nodded, making sure to be as gentle with you as possible as they led you over to the couch. Rosalina sat down first, taking up a lot of space as usual, with you crawling into the nook beside her, cuddling up to your Mama with earnest. “That’s it, baby. Get all nice and cozy.” She assured you.
The TV clicked on, showing the home menu of some sort of video game console. The three girls then began to discuss amongst themselves.
“You wanna play Mario Kart again?” “No, we did that last time…” “But it’s been quite a while since we hung out like this so…”
You just tuned out and continued snuggling into Rosalina’s tummy until a decision was reached: a game they called Mario Party. As they booted the game up, they all grabbed a controller and were ready to start playing, when Daisy piped up “Hey, don’t you think our new friend might want to play?”
“Oh, yes, we should include them while they’re here!” Peach added.
“Do you want to try it out, little one? Mama can help you if you’re unfamiliar.” Rosalina offered.
It didn’t take much thought for you to agree. In your head, any time spent with Mama is a good time. You grabbed the spare controller with slightly clumsy hands and made your character selection. Apparently, a “Mario Party” was a board game, where you collected coins to buy Stars and whoever had the most Stars at the end would win, with minigames played after every turn. Rosalina made sure to gently explain most of the mechanics while you played, making sure to congratulate you when you got ahead. Meanwhile, the other two princesses tried their best to trip each other up throughout the game, Daisy having to hold back quite a few outbursts so as not to scare you. In the end, Rosalina managed to win the whole thing, with you not far behind. Daisy groaned, cursing Rosalina’s apparent “winning streak.” By the time the four of you wrapped up, it had grown quite dark, the cool air coming from the window causing you to shiver.
With a near-silent “Oh baby”, Rosalina grabbed a nearby blanket, bundling you up while still keeping you close to her. She pulled out your pacifier from her purse to help soothe you further.
“Oh my, I almost didn’t realize how late it had gotten…” Peach lamented.
“It looks like it’s gonna rain too.” Daisy added, pointing out the dark clouds on the horizon.
“Driving might be a bit dangerous this late…would you mind me and my little one staying the night?” Rosalina asked, to which Peach immediately agreed. “Of course, of course, I don’t want either of you to risk getting a cold out there.”
“We could put on a movie or something before we fall asleep.” Daisy suggested.
“Ooh, that sounds nice! I have some leftover cake as well if anyone wants some!” Peach offered, Rosalina immediately shooting her hand up in confirmation.
The rest of the evening melted into a comfortable blur. You, bundled up, nursing on your paci, rest your head on Rosalina’s belly once more, sleeping peacefully as you listened to her digestion as she packed away the cake (and whatever else Daisy managed to goad her into eating). The gentle pitter-patter of rain and muffled sounds of conversation started to fill your sleep-addled mind, and you faded into deep unconsciousness once more, dreaming about how much you loved your big, soft Mama and the adventures she would take you on in the future.
