Second crouches behind a tree, stubbornly ignoring the chat. He’d glanced at it briefly, but he hadn’t understood what Alan was trying to say. That could be saved for later - Alan had invited them to play hide and seek and Second was determined to win.
They’d spawned in a snowy biome, which Second assumed was intentional due to it being Christmas time, and the mountains and caves had provided a few good hiding places. Second had an ace up his sleeve, however. He’d brought along the colouring tool and this was a good time as any to use it. With a click he was practically invisible.
Everything was probably good now. He takes a last look around to confirm - his hearts look different, but he can ask about that later - and settles down as his eyes grow heavy.
He doesn’t notice himself sinking into the powdered snow, not until he wakes up freezing. He flounders, panicking and blind and unable to find a proper foothold, condemned to watching his hearts tick down one by one. The others will have a good laugh about this when he wakes u-
Admittedly, Alan is panicking. The world had somehow gotten set to hardcore mode, and Second wasn’t responding in chat, so he has no way to make sure he was safe. Everything was probably okay, Second is responsible enough to take care of himself, but Alan can’t shake the feeling that something terrible is going to happen.
