Work Text:
It was a normal evening in the Gemberry woods, and Simon Smokes was in his castle, spending the evening with his two queens.
They were all chilling on the sofa, watching the Barbie version of Rapunzel (Crafty’s choice) and eating a charcuterie board that Anna had prepared for them.
But something was weighing heavy on Simon’s mind.
He’d been dating them both for a while now, and he still hadn’t told either of them his biggest secret.
So tonight, he was going to at least try to.
When the credits rolled, Crafty clapped.
“Well, that movie was wonderful, wasn't it guys?”
Anna and Simon both nod.
“Indeed.” Anna says. “I’ve always liked fairy tales like that.”
Simon then scoots closer.
“Uh… girls?”
He says, getting their attention.
“I have something that I need to tell you both…”
They both look curious.
“What is it?”
Anna asks.
Simon looks away.
“Well… I'm not sure how you’ll react…” he says.
“I just hope you don’t think any less of me…”
Anna gently hugs him.
“Oh Simon, we could never think less of you.”
Crafty gently pets his head.
“Yea, we love you.”
Simon smiles, reassured.
“Okay… I'll tell you.” He says.
Anna and Crafty nod, listening.
Simon sighs.
“I-i’m not exactly who you think I am.”
Both girls' eyes widened.
“W-what do you mean…?”
Crafty asks.
Simon looks at them, not really sure how to put it into words...
Then, he gets up.
“I’ll be right back.” He says. “I have to go get something.
“Uh, okay…?”
Anna says as he walks off. “We’ll be here.”
When they were alone, they looked at each other, wondering what Simon’s secret would be.
“You don’t suppose he’s going to show us something crazy, like, a disembodied arm or something, right?”
Anna asks.
Crafty gasps.
“No, of course not!” he says. “Simon may be kind of a bully sometimes, but he’d never go THAT far…”
Anna shudders.
“I hope not.”
When Simon came back, he was holding something behind his back, and looking nervous.
“Okay… you ready…?”
Simon asks.
Crafty and Anna nod.
Simon takes a deep breath, revealing what was behind his back.
It was a miniature flag, with five colored lines.
Sky blue, pastel pink, white, another pastel pink, and another sky blue.
Anna and Crafty gasp as they realize what he’s trying to say.
“Simon…”
Crafty says quietly. “Are you…”
Simon sighs. “Yes…”
He says, looking down.
“I am.”
The next few moments were tense, all three of them silent as an oyster.
Then, Simon speaks.
“If you girls want to leave, because i’m.. not a true man… then that’s… okay…”
He tears up a bit.
“I just hope you won’t make fun of me to anyone else…”
The girls were still silent, the atmosphere tense for another minute or so.
Then, Anna gets up, giving Simon a gentle smile.
“Oh Simon…”
She says, going to hug him. “Of course we still love you!”
Crafty nods, getting up as well and going to give him a kiss on the cheek.
“As long as you’re happy in your own body, Si.”
She adds. “You’re much more of a man than any ‘man’ who says you’re not.”
Simon cries joyfully, smiling brightly as he hugs them both close.
“Thank you, girls…” he says, kissing them both on the head. “I love you both so much."
They hug back, nuzzling both his shoulders.
“We love you too, Simon!”
They day in tandem.
Crafty then pulls back.
“Heck… so am I.”
She says, taking his hand.
Simon and Anna’s eyes widen.
“Woah, really?”
Crafty nods, smiling.
“Yep.” She says. “I was born as a guy, but decided I wanted to be a girl.”
Simon hugs her.
“And you’re the most beautiful girl I've ever seen.”
Crafty blushes and smiles, giving him another kiss on the cheek.
Anna was a little insulted for a second, but she had to agree.
“Indeed.”
She says, petting her shoulder. “You’re so much prettier than any ‘woman’ who says you’re not a real woman.”
She growls a bit.
“They’re the ones that aren’t real women.”
Crafty and Simon nod.
“Agreed.”
After their emotional discussion, they all go to sit back down on the couch.
They spent the rest of the night together, snuggled up in each other's arms all happy and content in their love’s acceptance.
