Work Text:
Meeting up with Dick had become a weekly thing. Though Percy wasn’t always talking, being able to get to meet him more was nice. Even better were the days where Jason had something to do around Crime Alley that let Percy get to know so funny stories from when Jason was younger.
Percy also wasn’t an idiot, he knew that there was a time the Dick skipped over, and Percy knew exactly why. But he never said anything.
Today, Dick and Percy were meeting up at a little coffee shop. Jason, again, was busy so it ended up being the two of them, a random university student and two workers in the shop that day.
“So, how are you?” Dick asked once they had ordered what they were getting.
Dick ordered a coffee with two creams and three sugars, like he needed the sugar, and Percy just got a hot chocolate, caffeine never helped him and it just tasted bitter.
Percy just shrugged, it was a hard-talking day, so he was just planning on letting Dick do most of the talking.
The man in question seemed to catch on, quickly filling the silence between the two of them.
Even after Dick finished, the silence between the two of them was still comfortable.
The silence in the cafe was nice.
The air was filled with cinnamon and peppermint like a lot of cafes were around the holidays, but it wasn’t too overpowering. It was nice. Days like this were nice.
