Percy hummed as he moved about the kitchen.
Him and Jason were trying to decide who’s cookies to make and Percy won, which meant that it was his moms cookies he was making.
He loved Alfred’s recipe, but his moms were his childhood and he promised Jason that he could make them next time.
He added the chocolate chips, while he followed the recipe, one rule was that you always measure the chocolate chips with your heart.
Well, along with the chocolate chips, also the blue food dye, but the important one was the chocolate chips.
Though the food colouring was next, he added probably too many drops to be considered normal, but they were a vibrant blue so it was ok.
Just as he began to scoop out this batch of cookies, the oven went off to mark that the first batch had finished.
He quickly put on some oven mitts and took the trays out of the oven and set them to cool while putting in the second batch of cookies before returning to scoop out the third.
He heard Jason come in, “Hey Jay, careful, I just took those cookies out,” he said as he watched Jason reach for a cookie, and completely ignoring Percy, grabbed one and stuffed it in his mouth only to immediately feel the burn of them from them just coming out of the oven.
Percy started laughing at his boyfriend as he tried desperately to cool down his mouth and finish the cookie at the same time.
“I don’t care, they're good,” he finally said, wrapping one arm around Percy’s stomach and pulling him against him.
Percy just hummed, a big smile still on his face and the smell of freshly baked cookies wafting through their apartment.
