The small fox-like creature scurried through the underbrush of the forest, small paws making soft pitter- patter sounds on the damp leaf litter. It’s dark, her glowing eyes gently lighting up the way ahead as she searched. She’s starving, truly feeling like her stomach was eating itself. So hollow and empty to the point it hurt. She sniffed hungrily at the air as her belly roared at her, hoping to pick up any form of a scent trail, she would take anything at this point. Large ears perked up as she caught the whiff of a rabbit, her stomach growled even louder at the proposition of true food.
She kept her nose close to the ground as she tracked the scent, glowing tail bobbing behind her. The trail eventually led her a rabbit grazing on some grass, unaware of the mysterious being lurking in the bushes. She licked her lips, her mouth-watering as she picked up the sound of the rabbit’s quick heartbeat, fresh blood. She stalked closer, her paws making no sound. Lunging out of the bush she tumbled into the rabbit, giving it no time to react. She swiftly locked her teeth around its throat and with a twist of her head she snapped it’s neck, a sickening crack echoing through the peaceful forest.
She dragged her kill back to the bush and dropped it at her paws, it wouldn’t be efficient to eat in this form. She closed her glowing eyes and in a quick puff of foreign smoke her form changed from a small fox to a human girl, still keeping the tail, ears and clawed hands.
She stared at her meal with wide eyes for a few moments before tearing into the rabbit’s abdomen with her sharp teeth. Primal hunger started to take hold as she truly started to feast on the rabbit's flesh, burying her face within the bloody insides. Ripping and clawing at the organs, she swallowed handfuls of the warm, slippery entrails. Blood quickly covered her face, hands, and chest as she ate, painting a gruesome scene.
She swallowed chunks of flesh whole, barely chewing or taking the time to breathe as she filled her empty belly. Desperate tears trickled down her face as she fought the urge to sob. She ate like a feral creature, the fresh meat tasting impossibly good, deprived of true food. The thick metallic taste of blood drove her more and more mad as she ate faster and faster.
She finally took time to breathe, chest heaving and jaws hanging open.
Blood, bits of flesh and saliva dribbled from her chin as she sat hunched, catching her breath. After a few moments she dove back in, catching bones between her teeth. She cracked them open with a crunch, hungrily slurping up the sweet marrow inside.
She licked up the last traces of meat off of the bones, starting to lick at her bloodied hands. There’s practically nothing left of the rabbit, just bits of fur and broken bones. She sat back and pulled her knees to her chest, continuing to slurp up the remaining red on her hands. Despite her having just eaten an entire rabbit, she still felt hungry. No matter how much she ate, she always felt a bit hungry afterwards, she never knew why.
Her ears twitched, hearing footsteps and voices off in the distance. With a puff of smoke, she quickly transformed back into the small fox-like creature and started to run, glowing tail trailing behind her as she leapt and bound deeper into the forest. She charged as fast as her small legs allowed her, desperately not wanting to be sealed away again.
