Chapter Text
Everything began like any other day, the sun shines through the glass, the birds chirped happily and my house in on FREAKING FIRE FOR SOME REASON!!!!
My name is Alejandro Garcia, a Colombian man that LOVES Pokémon. From the main games to the spin offs, I loved all of them. The only problem was that I'm poor and therefore lacked the ability to buy any of those games, except Platinum that an uncle bought me by chance alongside the DS.
Even if the community was toxic, or even if I hated some of the decisions Nintendo made, my love for Pokémon never faded. I kept loving all the innovations the anime and games brought to the ever-expanding world, alongside the characters that had storylines that intrigued me.
Alas, my childhood was indeed perfect wit Pokémon by my side. Once I turned 18 and went to college, I had to stop focusing on Pokémon. I couldn't concentrate in my scholar activities and also on the game, so I vowed to graduate and then play Pokémon with the money I would earn.
Sadly, reality is often disappointing and cruel. Not long after I graduated, I was extorted by some gangsters and was forced to pay large sums of money to prevent myself from being attacked, I tried telling the police but they always had someone checking the stations and I was scared of telling my loved ones due to them getting into this mess. The experience lasted a whole year until I finally snapped.
I gathered all the gangsters telling them that I will pay them more money and they arrived, after some time talking, they noticed a strange smell in the air, it was gas. Without giving them any time to think, I took a cigarette out from my pocket and lit it up, exploding my house in the process.
Not gonna lie, not my smartest moment, but I felt it worthwhile. As I was burning away, I only had one thought: "I wish I could play Pokémon one more time."
With that, everything went black.
When I woke up, I found myself on a different bed in a different apartment. A rush of memories entered my mind as I winced in pain. I had reincarnated.
My new name is Kaori Jinsei. A 18-year-old Japanese man that just killed himself, why? Because he got rejected by his favorite game company. I blew up my house so I can't judge but even I can say that's a bit dumb.
After getting up from bed and get used to my new body, I checked the news on the internet and found out that I'm in the year 1996. Well, at least I can play the original Red and Blue before it gets too ugly.
When I looked on my computer I searched for Pokémon, and searched, and searched again. BUT THERE WAS NO POKEMON!!!
How?! Why?! I died and now not only am I on Japan as my country, which isn't a bad thing but I'm disoriented, but there's no Pokémon either?!
I then searched for the names of everyone related in game freak and Nintendo. There was no record of it. None of the names nor company was out there.
Immediately after, I heard something.
[Ding! Congratulations host for knowing about the nonexistence of Pokémon in this world!]
[Reward: 1 Season of the Pokémon anime and 1 free console ticket.]
"The anime? Did I acquire the original Pokémon anime?"
[Indeed, you have, host.]
"Let's take this a step back, what are you?"
[I am a system design to ensure the economical domination of Pokémon in the whole world.]
"Ok, why me?"
[Completely random chance, you're quite lucky, host.]
"So, I make games and anime of Pokémon? Why?"
[You see host, this world is one where no Pokémon game of any kind has been released. My purpose is to expand the Pokémon brand worldwide through different media.]
"Awesome!! What's my part here?!"
[You'll be the CEO of the new Pokémon industry and manage the whole process.]
"Can I still play?"
[Affirmative.]
"Yahoo! Let's begin!"
[Allow me to explain how this works first.]
"Ok."
[You need to increase the popularity of the game and gain popularity points, with said points you'll be able to upgrade the system. The upgrades will allow you to buy different items that'll help you expand the Pokémon brand.]
"So, money isn't a must, but rather popularity?"
[Indeed, it is. The more popularity, the more points you'll get to purchase more material.]
"Like the TGC, Manga and console games?"
[That's correct, although, there's a small change. Instead of releasing multiple games and consoles, the system only provides one console and game for free. If you desire more, you'll have to pay with the points.]
"Let me check the prices."
After opening the store to check up the prices, I realized that there were quite some cheap ones but there was a problem. I don't want to make the same turn base RPG games like the past Nintendo.
So, I had an idea, I went and checked my rewards first before seeing if my idea was plausible.
[1st season of Pokémon.
55 episodes.
3 of those episodes were originally censored, corrections were made to prevent that.]
"System, can I alter some of the episodes?"
[You can, although the system has already made the animation quality and voice acting top notch. What changes do you desire?]
"Just some changes to Ash nothing too serious."
[Understood, you can check the editing process by yourself and the changes will be made immediately. Anything else?]
"Yes, when I checked your consoles, I notices a VR headgear, how functional is it?"
[The PVC is a completed product of the year 2055 that was made for the game Pokémon GO World Tour. It was a headgear that allowed you to see the different Pokémons on real life time as high advance IA brought to life by the gear.]
"Anything else?"
[The headgear is of high quality, able to withstand some damages, is waterproof, heat resistant, ice resistant, and it doesn't impair the user's vision, that way they can be aware of their surroundings and keep their safety on check.]
"System, make the updates to the Pokémon anime and allow me to publish the first episode as soon as possible."
[Understood, where do you want to publish the episode?]
"My YouTube account."
[I'm sorry, YouTube has not been created yet. It was created in 2005.]
"..."
I am screwed. I forgot the limitations of the 90's and couldn't make a proper publicity unless I pitched my idea to some other TV channel.
"System, help with the publishing..."
[Understood, the system has found a way.]
"Really?!"
[Yes, we've dug out some information of every TV related studio so that you can blackmail them into agreeing with you.]
"..."
[😊]
"You're one scare sentient screen, you know that, right?"
[The system doesn't understand.]
"Whatever, contact TV Tokyo. We need to make some preparations."
With that, my life began once again in this wonderful Pokémon-less world. Time to make this game as good as possible.
