Summary:

EXE feeds the 2011xlings.

Work Text:

“We are the 2011xlings! Please feed us! We are the 2011xlings! Please feed us! We are-“

The repetitive chant grated at EXE’s ears, making him grind his teeth irritably.

His towering form looked over at the swarm of tiny little imps that his Creator had sent to annoy him.

Even though EXE definitely held the power to tear each and every one of these little demon spawns apart, spread their organs and blood across the ground and grind their bones into a fine powder as if it were nothing, he knew that there was simply far too many of them for him to even consider following through with his desires; he’d grow tired after the first hundred or so.

The old bastard truly was a cruel entity; EXE knew that for certain now.

But EXE was nothing if not stubbornly determined; he refused to let the old man win, even if it was over something this stupid and quite frankly, small in the grand scheme of things.

“WHY DOES HE KEEP SENDING YOU-“ He stopped himself before he got into yet another long-winded rant about his Creator, “…What do you guys eat.” He spat out through gritted teeth.

For a precious, rare, beautiful moment, all was silent. The spawns of satan quieted down in surprise that EXE was genuinely deciding to provide them with sustenance, and all was right in the world.

…Unfortunately, nothing can last forever.

“The blood of the innocent! Human flesh! Human skulls!” They said in unison, and EXE felt an even bigger migraine coming on.

“OKAY, OKAY, I GET IT-“ He yelled as loud as he could, hoping to silence them all in one fell swoop, “Just.. shut up. Please, shut up.”

He sighed tiredly, “Look. Here’s the deal. I.. will give you all the food you so desperately need. And in return..”

He smirked, “The next time you see that old bastard, give him hell for me. Alright?”

His smug grin only widened further once he heard the 2011xlings unanimously let out a cry of “Okay!!”.

EXE exhaled, “Alright. I’ll go get your food now. Wait here and try not to mess anything up too bad.”

The 2011xlings cheered, exclaiming things like “Woohoo!!” and high-fiving one another.

EXE shook his head.

Fuck you, old man.

It wasn’t all that hard, getting his hands on human remains, unsurprisingly.

All he had to do was lure in a bit more victims than usual and kill them a lot quicker than he usually did.

He didn’t like to prolong the torture his playthings went through nearly as much as his Creator did, but he still liked to play around with them a bit before putting an end to them. That was the whole point of the game, wasn’t it?

Even though he was quite experienced when it came to murder (he had been doing it since he was the age of the 2011xlings, after all), he wasn’t nearly as experienced when it came to cooking and preparing meals.

He didn’t even have a mouth - eating was the least of his priorities.

Nevertheless, the 2011xlings didn’t seem to mind just how undercooked and raw their food was. Luckily for him, they didn’t seem to have the intelligence needed to be picky with their food.

A small win, but a win nonetheless.

They happily gnawed and chewed on the corpses he had offered to them, digging into the bodies like it was the finest delicacy they had ever consumed.

And perhaps the only delicacy they had ever consumed, he mused, I doubt the old bastard ever fed them. Wouldn’t be surprised if he neglected all of his other children too.

They yipped and yapped, letting out little “yay” and “yipee”’s every once in a while between bites.

…Shockingly, EXE found that he didn’t mind all the noise. He had even shrunken down into his smaller, less intimidating form - something that only happened if he was trying to trick an unfortunate soul or if he was really, trully comfortable around someone.

He didn’t quite know what had changed, or when he had begun to see the 2011xlings has more than just simple nuisances, but he.. wasn’t all that concerned about knowing, believe it or not.

Looking at them at the height he was now, EXE could see that the 2011xlings were actually considerably short - below even him in terms of size.

Guess he wasn’t too far off when he called them imps…

He hummed, watching the idiotically joyful little abominations eat as much as their hearts desired.

As least they get to be happy, he thought, half bitterly and half bittersweetly, Not.. ruined like me or “Sonic”.

Speaking of, he hadn’t seen “Sonic” in a very long time. EXE knew that “Sonic” was most likely busy finding more victims of his own to forcibly help contribute to his own delusion, but still was.. saddened? At the thought of rarely getting to see him again, if ever.

He closed his eyes shut tightly - what was going on with him today?

Taking a breath, he opened his eyes.

…Something he immediately regretted doing, looking out at the sea of 2011xlings, all of which had finished eating. They all looked at him, making unblinking eye contact with those big ol bug eyes of theirs.

“…So. I take it you’re all finished now?” EXE said, more a statement than a question.

“Yes!! Please feed us more!!” They all exclaimed.

Oh hell no - EXE would not fall down into this trap.

“…Why don’t you guys go back to wherever it is you came from? You still have to hold up your end of the deal, remember?” EXE reminded them.

They all went quiet, probably trying to recall the agreement they all had mutually made. It took a while, considering they all shared one singular braincell that was on life support.

“Ask old man for food..?” They all came up with, eventually.

EXE felt a shit-eating grin work its way onto his face, “Yeah, sure. As long as it annoys him.”

Time to give the old bastard a taste of his own medicine.

“Yay!!” They cheered, completely oblivious as to EXE’s true malicious intentions.. and everything else, merely happy that there was a chance they would receive more food. Again, the one braincell thing crippled them immensely.

EXE did what was possibly the hundredth sigh he had done today, and shook his head as the 2011xlings began to leave in a single file line.

EXE sat in his now empty realm. Well, technically it was the realm he had been banished to, but he had reclaimed it as his own, so..

He should have been happy with the newly found peace and quiet, he knew this, but..

He oddly. Missed the volume and chaos that the 2011xlings brought with them. Made the whole place feel a lot more livelier and less like the prison it was.

How strange.

“We are the 2011xlings! Please feed us! We are the 2011xlings! Please feed us! We are-“ The flock of tiny little devils repeated.

Oh, fuck off-“ Lord X whined.
