Chapter 1: The beginning
Pov:Miya, Year 2025
I've always wanted to be a hero. I mean, who wouldn't? Heroes always seemed so cool. They were also some of the nicest people you would have ever met! Though they didn't exactly like things like publicity and being in the spotlight. I mean, it's just my observations. Most heroes now don't usually hang around the scene of a crime that long. It's just like, for example, crime happens, Hero or heroes arrive, they defeat the perpetrator , then leave almost immediately. Well I guess they are probably really busy or something like that.
Why haven't I become a hero? Well, you see on Earth, only a few thousand of us humans have gifts, they basically are just powers or mutations. For example there are elemental gifts like Leo, a hero who can manipulate fire. I heard that he can even control things like lava. Or like Aqua, she can manipulate water and turn the water into ice. Those are really cool!
Oh shoot, I forgot the main point of this internal monologue. Well, you see I don't exactly have a useful power. At least, I don't think so? Well basically i have a secondary voice in my head… Hold on a sec, hey Kairyu, why are you being so quiet?

Right.. Villains. Villains are scary. I mean they literally don't care about us civilians, are anything in particular! They don't care about anything and will not hesitate to destroy anything, or anyone, that stands in the way of their goals!
Hey, KAIRYU already told you. Villains aren't really like that, you know. Villains actually care about their country as much as heroes do. KAIRYU doesn't get why you people keep thinking Villains are bad.
And how would you know? I mean I know you technically know everything but still. Villains literally kill people! I mean we don't know much about their actual personalities. But..
EXACTLY. For all you know they could actually be really nice people. I mean, you wouldn't know if the people they killed deserved it or not!
I guess that's true.. But I still think I'd rather stay away from villains you know… Better safe than sorry?
Fine… Anyways if you die KAIRYU won't be able to do the things KAIRYU wants!

First of all, in villain society, there are villains that control most of the other villains. The specific villains are unknown. Though I can list out a couple of villains .
FIRSTLY, the villain ‘CLOWN’
Male, usually seen with villain ‘ ECLIPSE’ and villain ‘DART’
Gift: CAN CREATE ILLUSIONS.

Gift: UNKNOWN, USUALLY SEEN TO BE ABLE TO SHOOT OUT FIREWORKS FROM FINGERTIPS, TELEPORTATION AND HEALING ABILITIES.MANIFESTS TAIL AND WINGS.

WELL THATS A STORY FOR ANOTHER DAY ~
… Okay I guess. Well uh, lets see what's my agenda for today. Oh right! I have to go run some errands for my mom. Mom, she's still sleeping. I should leave quietly. I think it's quite lucky that I have both parents still around, plus they actually care about me and support my dreams! Anyways, dad has gone to work now. I should go get the groceries first…
(scene, Miya steps out of the house after getting ready)
(POP!)
(Kairyu appears out of thin air in the form of white blob.)
Kairyu, your back. Gonna annoy me some more?
Tsk, why do you always assume that dummy. KAIRYU is supposed to be protecting you duh. What kind of guardian angel is KAIRYU if KAIRYU dosen’t keep watch of you.
Dude, nothing's gonna happen to me. I'm just running a couple of errands..

(They continue on their way, Miya walks past a jewelry shop.)
Oh right! Kiyomi’s birthday is coming up soon! I should get her a gift. I heard she's gonna start trying to intern with the hero Hoots. I think that would be the best hero for her to intern with. Considering they both have wings and their gifts allow them to locate people easily. I heard Kiyomi's going to try to become a search and rescue type of hero. I think she'd really suit that role. Her gift basically gives her bat mutations. Wings, super hearing fangs, etc.
Oh right, speaking of gifts. Most of us who have gifts prefer to keep them secrets. Those with mutations however cannot hide them. Due to the common misconception that those with gifts should become heroes, she's been pressured to become one… I kind of feel bad for her. Since my gift is a type of spirit, at least no one can actually see Kairyu. It doesn't draw any attention to me!
I'm sure a couple of heroes probably would have noticed Kiyomi has a gift already. Probably waiting for her to turn 18 to recruit her as a hero. Good for her, at least she actually seems excited to become a hero. Unlike others who don't wish to…
Oh right, the jewellry store. I've been standing outside for too long, people are starting to stare. I should go in.

(Miya walks into the store and starts browsing through the selection of jewellry)
Wow, all of these gems are so pretty. I can't choose… I think she’d like a black opal gemstone. It would really fit her wings. Errr, yes! I found one. Wow, that's really expensive, but its a very special occasion for Kiyomi so-
“HANDS UP, DONT MOVE!”
!?! What?... A robbery??? Oh my god… a robbery. Great, I just had to be here at the best time ever.
(The robber points the gun at the owner while the second robber rushes to smash the glass cases containing the jewellry. The customers in the shop all cower in fear. Miya does the same, though not in fear.)
Sigh, I mean why should I be scared. Robbers don't usually harm people if we follow their instructions. Who would actually want to be labelled as a villain. So we should be saf-
BANG,BANG
(Robber no.1 fired two shots at the owner. The co- owner of the store shriekd in pain before collapsing into a pool of blood. It seemed she had already pressed the emergency button. Well the robber was too late, it was already pressed. The authorities will be here soon.
W..what..? They actually shot her!??? No way. They… they killed someone! Their villains! Shit. They probably won't hesitate to kill any of us hostages when the police arrive… Please dont..
(The sirens could be heard from a distance.)
The police! Lets hope they are able to solve this.
“RELEASE YOUR HOSTAGES KNOW OR FACE THE CONSEQUENCES”- police officer
“Heh, they really think we’d let the hostages go that easily. We’re gonna get sent to jail for murder anyways. Lets just have some fun”- robber no.2
What? FUN? KILLING, MURDERING IS FUN?... That's really sick and twisted… Wait, why are they approaching me?
“Lets use this one then, she looks the weakest..”- robber no.1
EHHH?? WHAT? WHY ME. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
(The robber pointed the barrel of the gun at Miya’s head.)
I never thought I'd say this but Kiaryu, please. Help me..! I don't want to die just yet! What will mom and dad think? I'd make them so upset. Like I've always done. Disappoint and disappoint again. Sure they might not openly express or say anything about it but still..!
Huh, oh my goodness gracious. KAIRYU leaves for one sec and this happens. What did KAIRYU say? Don't worry, geez. Kairyu will save you.
Kairyu’s blob body suddenly began to stretch and expand, slowly forming legs, a body and a head. It curls into itself slightly before large white wings stretch and expand outwards from its body, a large feathery tail unfurled from behind. A smiley face is painted onto its face as it stares down the robber.
“AAGHH’ -Both robbers scream, letting go of Miya and pointing the gun at Kairyu. Miya takes the opportunity to slip away behind a cabinet.
Damn, Kairyu never told me they could do this! That… THATS AMAZING! What else can it do…
Miya starts rambling to herself about certain possibilities.
Kairyu in its now monstrous form stares down at the robbers. BANG BANG. Once again, Robber no.1 fires 2 shots at Kairyu, which Kairyu absorbs gleefully.
HHAAHAHAHAHA YOU THINK THAT LITTLE GUN COULD HURT ME? EHAHHAHAHAHHEAHHAHAHAHAHAHA. YOU FOOLS!
Their face splits into 4 as they laugh manically (for reference, search for yarnaby, poppy playtime and imagine instead of splitting into two, its into four)
The robbers shriek and dash out of the store with their hands in the air.
“WE SURRENDER , JUST GET US AWAY FROM THAT THING”- robber no.2 shrieks
“Um what?”-officer no.1
“What just happened???”-officer no.2
“I think they're hallucinating.”-officer no.3
“Yeah, “-officer no. 2
“Definitely”-officer no.1
“...”
(meanwhile in the store)
Kairyu…. You can turn back now..?
Ahah, give KAIRYU a sec. KAIRYU is going to heal up the one who got shot.
You can do that too? What else can you do? Shoot lasers from your mouth?
… Actually yeah, how’d you know.
WHAT??? I gotta see that one day. Why did you keep this a secret anyways….
Eh KAIRYU thought that it wasn't important then!
I think our perception of ‘importance’ is very different…
Kairyu shifts back to blob form and disappears again.
Hold on, what will the rest of the hostages in the store think! They will know that someone had a gift in there!
Meh it's fine, KAIRYU was invisible to the rest of the people in the store other than the robbers.
Wait, what about the outside of the store.

(After giving their statements to the police, they leave to go home)
Oh right, remember that necklace you were looking at? KAIRYU stole it.
