Reader’s POV

I groaned as Natasha walked up to me with a file in hand, “hope you didn’t have any Christmas plans rookie.” Of course, Natasha Romanoff somehow finds a way to ruin Christmas for me. “Guess it doesn’t matter does it widow,” I spat and Natasha smirked. She handed me the folder, “Merry Christmas Puppy.” With that she walked away. When I was told that I’d be training under Natasha Romanoff I could have almost fainted. The redhead was almost everyone’s dream mentor in the academy but reality of the situation is no one has ever made it through the 2 year shadow program with her.

I looked down at the file seeing that it is in the Siberian wilderness. I huffed. I mean if the Russian wanted to go home for Christmas couldn’t she have just asked for the time off I mean come on. I sighed and went to get ready for the mission. Intell gathering is what it is classed under but you can never fully know with Fury’s top assassin. I got ready almost on autopilot now. Guns check, swords check, protective gear check and of course a big ass coat because it's Siberia, Russia in Winter.

Walking to the jet I see Natasha talking with Maria Hill. I watched them. The commander was smirking while Romanoff had her arms crossed and kept huffing and rolling her eyes. When both went still I heard Natasha call out, “come out we know you’re there Puppy.” I came out and the commander looked at me, “well if it is Romanoff’s little rookie.” I pulled my bag tighter to me. “Commander Hill it is an honour to meet you,” I said trying to make myself as small as possible.

“Aren’t you cute,” Commander Hill smirked at me and I blushed. The woman was tall and looked like she just walked out of a modelling agency. Blue eyes study me but all I could do was blush and keep my head down. “Good luck Romanoff and remember the safe house is only 25 minutes away from the location so be on the lookout and don’t do anything stupid,” Hill said and Natasha smirked, “when do I ever.” The taller woman looked her dead in the eye, “in what list form do you want it?”

Natasha huffed and motioned for me to get on the jet so I obeyed. I put my bag down on the seat and bucked in. Natasha joined me a second later, “okay Rookie let’s go.” With those words she entered the cock pit. How can someone be both annoying and hot. The woman is making me work over Christmas.

Well this Christmas just when from bad to worse I thought as bullets are flying behind me while I drag Natasha out of line of fire. Intell mission my ass. I peeked out from the dumpster we are hiding behind and shoot at the guards. As I shot two down I felt myself being pulled down to Natasha’s level, “we need to go now there’s a snowstorm headed our way.” I looked at the bullet wound in her shoulder. I know she’d be okay but it’s still terrifying to see Natasha Romanoff bleeding from her shoulder.

“I’ll cover you get to the car,” I said and she growled, “like hell am I leaving you puppy.” I shoot a few times keeping the guards back and crouched in front of Natasha grabbing her face, “Get. To. The. Car. I can handle this Natasha now listen.” Green eyes looked up at me but our eye contact was broken by another round of shots to the dumpster. “Go I’m right behind you,” I tell her and stood shooting at the guards again as I felt Natasha move.

When I glanced back and Natasha wasn’t in slight I made a run for the car shooting at the men behind me. I see the door to the driver’s side opened and I slid in. Natasha was beside me and I grinned, “be my guns?” I tore the gear stick into Reverse spinning the wheel around. Natasha shot out the window. I threw the gear stick into 1st… 2nd… 3rd… 4th… just as I was about to go up the last gear our back window was shot out. “WHO CHASES PEOPLE ON CHRISTMAS!” I scream manoeuvring the car down a side street.

As we got within a 5 mile radius of the safe house I got out and parked the car. Natasha followed me and I pat the hood of the car, “you did good.” I grabbed Natasha and started helping her. Three streets and when I saw the police Natasha swore under her breath. As they were headed our way Natasha turned to me, “I think I’m going to enjoy this way more then I should.” I didn’t have time to react before her lips were upon mine. I moaned into the soft plush lips of my boss.

“Эй, прекратите и сделайте это дома (Hey stop that and do it at home),” a cop said and I looked at them, “Мне очень жаль (I am so sorry).” The Russian flowed out of my mouth and they just nod their heads leaving. Natasha was looking up at me and I blushed, “let’s go.” As much as I tried I couldn’t hold her eye line. The house came up just as snow started falling. When we reached the driveway it was now blowing a gale the snowstorm hitting the town we are in. I help Nat in quickly and shut the door to stop even more snow from coming in.

I checked the house gun in hand but it was clear. I sighed in relief and moved to the main power switch built into these SHIELD houses and flipped it but nothing happened. I turned to Natasha, “um Agent Romanoff it’s not turning on.” I said and the red head moved behind me pressing against my back checking the switch. “It appears that someone has tampered with this safe house,” Natasha said against my ear and I shivered. “It’s going to get a lot colder in here let’s hope there is at least a fireplace,” Natasha purred.

Okay better news it does have a fireplace, but it is getting colder now. My body shivering despite the burning wood in front of me. -35 degrees Natasha told me. While the Russian was used to this weather I was definitely not the coldest my home would ever get would be -2 degrees. I curled up more but it didn’t stop the frostbite creeping into my feet and hands. “Okay so I got blankets and pillows we are sleeping in front of the fire tonight,” Natasha said. I looked up but quickly looked away from the shirtless agent. “Aww is the little agent shy?” Natasha teased and I turned glaring at her.

“I’m not shy but for god sake wear a shirt,” I said but my eyes flash over to her now bandaged shoulder. “Are you okay?” I asked and she looked at her shoulder then back to me, “yeah pup it’s okay.” I sighed and Natasha laid everything down. I grabbed a blanket laying it on the floor putting pillows at one end then laid down pulling the two other blankets over me. I closed my eyes but when Natasha got in behind me I frowned slightly.

Arms wrapped around me and I froze but they didn’t stop until they were on my flat belly. “Agent Romanoff,” I said but her nose pressed against the back of my neck, “how long have you known Russian?” She asked and I huffed, “I’m an Agent of SHIELD I know many languages.” She turned me until our eyes met, “you are very full of surprises darling.” I smiled, “naturally.” I stared into her green eyes as her hand crawled against my back under my shirt.

“Natasha,” I whispered and she smiled, “I’ll behave but for Christmas I want you. When we get home I’m going to take you out then when I came back home I am going to lay you on my bed and eat you like my last meal.” I shivered at Natasha’s words, “okay.” I whispered so quietly I’m surprised she could even hear it. With a peck to my lips she smirked, “good girl now rest we’re in for a long night.”
