Work Text:

Scott's head pounded within the dark confinement he was trapped in. Some douchebag thought that it would be nice to wrap him up and keep him down under, even promised that he would spend the next six centuries down here.

Clearly, he was wrong, because someone's trying to pound on the roof of his coffin. But he isn't quite sure how long he was under, and part of him quivers at maybe six hundred years had passed.

“Hi, hello there~” a cheerful grin fell on Scott's sight, a far too familiar grin from a very old friend.

“You are a sight for sore eyes, my witchy friend,” Scott replied as he squinted because of the sunlight burning his irises, “Long time no see, how long was I buried this time, Scar? And how did you find me?”,

“I don't know, I was just here looking for some things,”, Scar extended his staff to pull up Scott from his shallow grave. As soon as the vampire was up on the surface, a snow covered forest of giant redwood revealed itself, as well as Scar’s mount which was a llama with chimes and bells tinkling on the edge of the carpet that draped the creature.

“What year is it now, Scar?” Scott asked Scar once more,

“2006,” Scar replied, “It's just about to end, though,”.

Scott let out a sigh of relief, but looking at the white snow, he must have spent at least the rest of Fall, that Winter finally came. The vampire slapped the mud and snow off his knees, straightening the golden trinkets and pins attached on his jacket, and opened his phone to finally see two bars of signal as well as his battery being only half-spent. He smiled, but it turned upside-down when over a hundred missed calls finally registered into his phone, as well as texts that almost filled his inbox.

In front of him, the vampire could hear the magical sorcerer or wizard giggle. “What are you laughing about?”,

“You, and that phone of yours,” Scar replied, “It’s been buzzing around, and you're texting like there's no tomorrow,”,

“That's not funny,” Scott frowned,

“Oh no, it's really not, really,” Scar grinned,

“Then why are you laughing?” Scott raised a brow,

“Well… It is kinda funny, because once upon a time, you're this cool manor lord that doesn't even give a damn about this and that,” Scar explained, then he made an exaggerated mime based on the vampire, “I don't care, I have gold, I have drapes, I can pay, just give me that spell!” Scar barked with his arms akimbo,

“And now, seeing you so invested in that phone of yours… Tell me, what made someone with a heart as cold as ice, thaw out like that?” The wizard nested his chin on the crook in between his llama’s ears, the fluff itching his nose.

Scott chose not to answer, not out of denial, but because after spending a probable few weeks underground, he is quite disorientated still aboveground.

The vampire's long pause was cut short with a laugh at Scar now, as the sorcerer was launched up several feet into the air, his scream fading into the thick leaves overhead, and coming back in a shriek and several bottles of potions and glass crystals breaking underneath the wizard.

“That's not funny!” Scar hissed, rubbing his nose off of llama fur,

“No-!” Scott giggles, his eyes squinted with glee of someone else's mishap,

“Then why are you laughing! Stop laughing!” Scar summoned and swung his staff to make whips of roots and flora bring him back up onto the llama he was on, as well as giving Scott a light jab on his gut for teasing him.

Only the punch pushed Scott back into the square hole he just crawled up from. And the vampire immediately jumped out of the patch with his vampiric lunge.

“You meant that, didn't you?” Scott frowned, trying and failing to brush off the loose soil off his clothes this time, as he was soaked with snow and grime.

“Of course, not,” Scar cackled, as he tried to adjust the leash on his llama to stop the creature from bucking him off their back. He then bared his wrist to the vampire, “How about a proof of goodwill?”.

Scott raised his brow, “Can't I just take a sip from your llama instead?”, puzzled and suspicious by how the wizard willingly offered his blood,

“Better me than Pizza! He needs to carry me back home. Besides, I think wizard blood will me more nutritious-” Scar spluttered, then made a step back away from Scott, “-Okay, wait just a minute-! I'm sure I heard you wrong earlier, because there's no way you're opting for llama blood instead of wizard, Goldsmith,”,

Scott rolled his eyes as he moved towards Scar, and nursed the open hand, “Well, something's changed,”,

The wizard eyed the vampire. Wrist still open like before.

“Don't make me faint,” Scar warned him,

Scott rolled his eyes once more. And made the wizard faint of hypotension.

“I knew you'd do that!” Scar woke up on his llama's back, as he weakly tried to swing his staff against the back of the vampire who's leading his ride.

The wood tapped lightly on the vampire's crown, making him chuckle, “I was hungry~” Scott replied with a sweet sarcastic innocent voice.

“Nope! Not believing you, mister!” Scar made a fuss behind Scott, “Turn left, There's a train station on the next few miles,”,

“Train station?” Scott finally turned to Scar, disbelief etched on his face, “When did this state have a railway system,”,

Scar only smiled, “I'll show you,” he pulled Scott onto the llama and fed a small bean to their mount. And all of a sudden, the llama was moving just as fast as a car.

“SCAR!!! WHAT THE HECK!” Scott clung around the wizard’s waist for his dear life, only for him to get tugged on by inertia and pushed on the gravel with a roll.

Pulling himself up on his elbows, the vampire finally got a hold of the view of a short train on an abandoned track. Unlike the rusty trail the carts are on, the train itself was shining red, Scott's red eyes widened at the sight of a literal glass cart containing dolphins and some other fishes he isn't quite sure yet.

“I have to send wonderful creatures to a dungeon maker somewhere in the North,” the wizard told the vampire, the llama his on clopping into a boarding platform,

“I think you know this guy. He's a vampire, too!” Scar winked at Scott urging him to get on the train with him.

Having nothing else to do so far, Scott takes Scar's hand. And when they reached their destination, Scott can already tell from the pointy peaks of the unfinished gothic towers, that he is quite well acquainted with the guy.

“Hi Scar!” The guy emerged into the sun, revealing a pair of red sunglasses along with a blinding smirk. He then turned to Scott, “Hello, My Childe, Welcome to Greywick,” as he engulfed the younger vampire into a tight hug.
