Summary
The door of the house opens, and even when the inside is also cold, Ekko takes off his jacket and shoes. This time, he doesn't hurry to adjust the heater, nor does he even think about lighting the fireplace. When he hears the tip-tap of small paws rushing towards him, he can barely muster a grimace before Ares looks at him and meows. Ekko knows what the little cat is asking — and something breaks inside Ekko's chest; just like the first time. There are no words to explain to him why the human that used to spoil him and give him lots of love hasn't come home in a long time.
Ekko is spending Christmas on his own, remembering some events from the previous Christmas. In his reverie, he finds himself coming back to the events that triggered his current situation.
