Chapter Text
In Iacon city, in a home, a green femme was sitting by two mechlings in the center of the lining room floor.
“Carrier, can you tell us a story about our god? Please??” The red and blue mechling asked with excitement in his optics, sitting in front of the green femme. His name or designation is Orion Pax, a very curious, kind yet adventurous mechling who is the son of Codexa, an Archivist of Iacon Hall of Records. He's only 6 year/mega-cycle old at this point. He'd always like to learn almost anything about Cybertron, hoping to follow his Carrier's pede-steps. His sire was an explorer, quite adventurous, big yet gentle and helpful which Orion admires.
Sadly, his sire had passed away when Orion was only 3. He knew about his sire by Codexa telling him about the late explorer.
"Again?" The white and red-orange slightly older mechling quietly complained, sitting by the red and blue mechling. He is Ratchet, a good friend of Orion and is older than Orion, being 10 mega-cycle old. He tends to be serious and tries to be mature. He comes from a family of medical officers, having two siblings and is the oldest. He only has interests in medical fields yet he does sort of want to learn a bit about the past, just not hearing it more than 5 times.
It's a mystery how these two met and how they became friends. But we'll get to that later.
Codexa, the green femme, softly chuckles at the two mechlings, “Now, now Ratchet. It’s best to know some stories about Primus. But I promise you this story is a tad different.”
Ratchet looks at Codexa with respect, replying, “How though? Primus created Cybertron then created 13 Primes to protect us from evil, each Primes are different and rumors have a few still functioning to this day, having a family of their own today.”
Orion glances at Ratchet, sighing at his friend yet he understands why Ratchet is getting tired of hearing the same stories over and over again.
“Yes, but that's not all of it. In fact, what you two were told has been sort of bent from the truth.” Codexa responded, softly gazing at Ratchet.
Both Orion and Ratchet looked at Codexa, wondering what she'd meant.
“Tell me, do you two know anything about Unicron?” Codexa questioned.
“Isn’t he a very bad mech that the Primes destroyed?” Orion asked, remembering a tad bit about Unicron.
Codexa nodded, “Yes, and he was the first one the Primes had ever faced. In fact, Unicron was connected to Primus.”
“How?” Orion asked, tilting his helm to the right as curiosity appeared in his optics.
Ratchet also asks, “Yeah, besides being somewhat old as Primus, how is Unicron connected to Primus?”
Codexa looks serious as she starts telling them what she knows, “Well, let's start in the beginning, right when the Universe was young…”
...Many mega-cycles ago, more than eons ago when the universe was young, there once was a single omnipotent being that conversed with itself. At some point, it soon split into two gods, Primus, the god who saw beauty in life and found it sacred, and Unicron, the god of death, chaos and rage.
“Whoa! We had one god until it split into Primus and Unicron?!” Orion interrupted, getting excited.
“Yep, Primus and Unicron were like the two personalities of one god or divine being until they decided to become two.” Codexa told him.
“So, Unicron and Primus were one and became two?” Ratchet slowly muttered. “Wait... won't that make them... brothers?”
Codexa nodded and continued the story.
The two were brothers, traveling through the universe for a long time until Unicron found life on each planet pointless, seeing the dark side of life as he slowly became cruel and needed to end ALL lives.
"Every... single planet... Every life... Violence... wars... greed... neglection... murders... What’s the point...? It will end up the same way...! I had enough of this... I’m sick of this! Everything must be destroyed!"
"Brother... No... You can't!"
Primus painfully watches as Unicron went on a cosmic rampage, destroying the planets he could find, with the end goal of consuming reality itself while Primus grew ever more lethargic and withdrawn by his brother becoming apathy and evil. Unicron was soon known as the Planet Destroyer.
Eventually, at some point, Primus made a stand against Unicron, becoming like a galactic war between them, but the two god-like brothers found themselves evenly matched. It was unknown when it would end...
It was then Primus made his final decision in order to put a stop to Unicron's rampage, he'd sacrifice his life, his body by becoming/transforming into a planet, which later on dubbed as Cybertron, and created his first Transformers, the Thirteen Primes in order to face his former brother.
Despite Unicron being a massive planet-size mech and quite powerful, the Primes’ will of saving lives, bravery, justice, determination, hope and plus working together, Thirteen Primes somehow managed to defeat and destroy Unicron, saving many lives.
Both Orion and Ratchet looked very flabbergasted and amazed.
“Wow! The Primes manage to destroy Unicron, a god-like mech who was a brother of Primus, and saved everyone from extinction!” Orion exclaimed, amazed.
"That's quite a tale..." Ratchet quietly responded, surprised by the story.
Codexa shrugs, telling them, “Well, not exactly a tale. Besides, the ending was different back then.”
Orion blinks, wondering what she'd meant, "Different? How?"
Codexa quietly sighs, looking sort of nervous, “What I'm about to tell you both is true, but you mustn't tell anyone about this until the time is right. You see...”
While Primus and Unicron were once one was true and the Primes facing the former god is also true, being told to many of Unicron destroyed by the Thirteen Primes. The truth is, Unicron still exists to this day/breem. You see, Unicron wasn't destroyed. Right when the Primes finally defeated the Planet Destroyer, they all somehow managed to weaken Unicron by using an object known as the Matrix of Leadership, shrinking him into our sizes and sealed him away in one location on Cybertron to be watched over for a long time, making sure he'll never ever be released. They even trained many Transformers to make sure that location won't be found nor to be known, fearing those with evil intentions will try to free Unicron.
Before Unicron was sealed, he'd told the Thirteen Primes that he vows he'll get revenge.
“No matter what you do, no matter how long it will take, I will return… I shall lay a curse on those who dared to release me, I shall make you all suffer by my wrath for all eternity!”
One of the Primes, a wielder of the Matrix, spoke to Unicron before they sealed him away...
“Even if you do come back, you’ll never be in full power, Unicron… As long as Primes exist through others, you’ll one day be destroyed once you’re released. As long as our Energon bloodline runs through to others, you’ll never be in full power… With this, the Matrix of Leadership, will be the only thing to lead to your downfall.”
Unicron, knowing they’re right, angrily accepts his fate, but he knew he’ll be back one day, locked away for a long time as the Primes had erased his existence as nothing, but a monster to make younglings behave, only a powerful mech to be defeated by the Primes, not a god. How he was beaten was changed in order to make sure NO one would find him and the Primes made sure of that.
Codexa softly sighs, looking at Orion and Ratchet with a serious look on her faceplate, “That was the last time any bots ever saw Unicron or heard of him, slowly believing he is just a myth, an evil being to punish those who no longer function from their past bad deeds. We all soon forget the true story as those who knew the truth just wait, preparing themselves in case Unicron ever comes back.”
Orion nervously gulps.
“Whoa…” Ratchet quietly gasped.
“That was many long ago and no one still has any idea where Unicron is or even found any proof he was real or connected to our god.” Codexa told them.
“Is he real?” Orion slowly asked. “Was he really a brother of Primus?”
“Well, I believe it’s true and it’s possible those two were once brothers before Unicron fell into darkness or maybe he was always like that.” Codexa answered.
“Is any of that even true?” Ratchet asked, raising one of his optic-brows at her.
“Maybe, maybe not.” Codexa chuckled. “I believe it’s true. But there’s no proof any of that is true.” She soon got up, standing up. “Now then, how about I make some Energon snacks for us all?”
“Yeah!” Orion smiled.
“Yes, ma’am.” Ratchet responded, with a small smile.
Codexa quietly giggles at their reactions then leaves to go to the kitchen to make some snacks.
Once Codexa left, Orion looked at Ratchet with interest in his optics, questioning, “Do you think all of that was real??”
Ratchet shrugs, “Honestly, I’ll believe it if there were some proofs if it’s true. Although, it does sound kind of interesting and possibly make sense.”
“What makes sense?” Orion asked, blinking.
“Well, Unicron and Primus were once brothers yet opposite of each other, battling each other until Primus became Cybertron and created the Primes in order to destroy Unicron. Unicron is the FIRST one for the Thirteen Primes to face as all the stories had mentioned.” Ratchet explained, looking at Orion. “But Unicron is still around yet he’s sealed away somewhere on Cybertron? Sounds kind of silly.”
“Maybe, but what if it’s true?” Orion responded, glancing down in thought.
Ratchet stares at Orion, “Don’t tell me you’re planning to find Unicron and release him in order to prove a point…”
“No, no!” Orion quickly replied, holding his servos up. “I just want to prove that my Carrier could be right about what she’d heard. She really seems to believe in it. In fact, I would like to explore like my Sire did, making new discoveries, new adventures.”
Ratchet snickers at Orion, covering his mouth, "I don't see you being like your sire, Orion! He’s more well built for that life. You, well... you’re a bit more like Codexa, shy and following the rules."
"H-hey..." Orion pouted. "Like you would be a medical officer with how you look AND behaving."
Ratchet flinches, frowning, “N-not my fault everyone always acts like nothing happens to them. And being nice to them or letting them down easily? A harsh and quick honest answer is the only way.”
“You’ll be a strict doctor, Ratchet.” Orion replied, chuckling with awkwardness.
"Maybe, but you’ll be a brilliant clerk like Codexa." Ratchet complimented, smiling. "Maybe one of the tops."
"Do you really think so?" Orion softly replied, optics light up.
"Yeah, you're always trying to read the data files on your own." Ratchet told him.
"Then um let's do our best to achieve our dream, Ratchet." Orion smiled.
As the two friends spoke, enjoying their time together, there's one thing that even Codexa didn’t know. Unicron had his last say before being sealed for a long time...
“Hehe... HAHAHA!! Well then... I know one breem, all of you will slowly go offline, but soon one of YOU will be reborn in a new frame and I shall find you, use you as my sacrifice in order to fully unlock my powers, to be the Planet Destroyer once again! I will return!!”
No one knows when it will happen nor know how it will happen as the facts were slowly forgotten by others as only those who worked with the Primes know the truth, making sure no one will find him, fearing one day, he’ll be released to set the curse on them all. And that won’t happen until much, much later in the future and young Orion Pax might one day learn that some things are meant to be kept secret, leading him towards his demise.
However, fate can be strange sometimes, for he won’t be alone to face the future alone.
