    There was only one person among the Astral Express crew who was not confused about the appearance of this hologram after leaving Jarilo-VI. A promise was made to pretend to not know each other, so why exactly was Himeko finding herself frustrated and angry when being met by Kafka's voice and hologram in her private room shortly after? To her bad luck (or rather good luck?), the other woman missed the navigator just as much as she did herself.

    OR - Kafka hid physically inside the Astral Express to meet Himeko right after the hologram scene.
