Summary
Dave watched for hours as that red ship meandered across the sky, occasionally dropping more of those strange things. From here they kind of looked like grasshoppers, or praying mantises, cutting through the air as they fell towards an unseen destination. Dave imagined them boring into the earth from the velocity of their fall, releasing strange substances or just exploding, killing indiscriminately. As soon as that ship disappeared from his view, it was like that strange afternoon didn’t happen.
Days later he would come face to face with exactly what that ship had dropped, them empire army of Her Imperious Condescension. An invasion of Earth so quick and devastating they were colonized before they knew what was happening. Dave Strider faces a bleak future of hunger and isolation, until an old friend is brave enough to cross the trecherous landscape to find him again.
