Chapter Text
Into the lower half of the ship, Kumiko stepped toward the darkness to find Lily. Cautiously walking down as she looked for the half-dead girl.
“Lily? Please don’t tell me you’ve…” She absentmindedly trailed off as she turned on the hanging lightbulb, slightly limping as she walked, her eyes looking a little tired.
Kumiko looked up, taking a whiff of the air and covering her nose, caught off guard by the sudden smell in the room.
“Uh, Kumiko? Is that you?” Lily was sitting by a wooden barrel next to Castro, who was smoking something earthy that filled the air with an unmistakable scent.
The dark haired girl looked more dazed than Kumiko had ever seen her, even when infected with the virus, it was a strange sight to behold. However, she looked calm, her hands less rotten and shaky.
Lily stared at Kumiko, the two of them making sharp eye contact, confused. “Lily, are you smoking…?”
“Yeah.” Lily answered, a slight blush on her face as she turned away.
Castro silently observed as they decided it was best to leave the room, the short person quickly putting out the earthy blunt as they went back upstairs.
“Lily..” She stared in awe at the half-dead girl in front of her, limping closer and running her fingers through Lily’s hair.
The girl turned her head, making eye contact with Kumiko once more.
“Is there something you need?” She shyly questioned, her vision blurry, eyes slightly red and her heart beating faster than it should be for someone partially dead.
“Are you okay?” The other girl asked before quickly being pinned against the wall, whimpering as her wounded leg still ached in pain.
Lily had a strange hunger in her eyes, not one of infection, but of infatuation. She closely observed and studied Kumiko’s face, her skin, and as well as her body.
