Enjoy reading.
Yet another day of bloodshed. They're used to the pain and death, but it doesn't mean it hurts less. The exhaustion lingers in the bodies of survivors.
Builderman and the rest of the survivors could finally take a break for the day before they will go through another round the next morning.
As Builderman tiredly scanned the cabin as usual after a round to see what everyone was up to. Elliot was busy making pizza for dinner and he could see Shedletsky resting on a couch nearby him.
With Two Time leaving the main cabin probably to pray again to their god? Builderman is not sure and he doesn't want to find out.
Dusekkar and Taph were busy having a conversation. He noticed Noob and Chance were playing Poker together. Builderman normally wouldn’t encourage gambling, but after being stuck there for so long he couldn’t stop it anymore.
In the corner of the cabin he can see 007n7 and Guest quietly talking with each other. Probably talking about their families and parenthood. Builderman was surprised they got along, considering 007n7’s past, but good for them.
Builderman thought it's going to be another day like always. As he was about to fall asleep near Shedletsky. He suddenly heard a loud noise coming from the cabin, right behind the couch getting everyone’s attention as a portal was suddenly open with a small note falling out of it.
Shedletsky, waking up from the sudden noise, quickly sits, on guard, getting his sword out. “Whoa! What is going on?! I’m awake!”
Builderman, also fully awake, slowly approached the portal and the note that was on the ground. He slowly picked it up. Other survivors gathered around him. “What's written on it Mr Builderman?” Said Noob, who was standing nearby. Builderman cleared his throat and started reading.
“Hello my dear survivors. I've gotten bored of you constantly dying in the same loop. So I decided to be generous and set you free. I hope you'll enjoy what the real world has to offer. >:P -From Spectre”
“Wait, is this for real?” Shedletsky asked, surprised by the news.
"Looks real to me." From Chance, who is fixing his glasses after inspecting the note.
Builderman, being the leader of the survivors, decided to say first to calm everyone down. “Let’s talk about this first before heading to who knows where that portal leads us to.”
He turned towards Elliot. “It’s the pizza ready for dinner?” Which Elliot nods to. Builderman slightly smiles. “Great. We'll discuss the situation during dinner.”
The dinner was filling, despite being just a pizza everyone grew used to. The odd portal is still in the middle of the living room. It illuminates a white glow, with occasional star-like sparkles appearing around it.
The group was observing it during the dinner. While they wish they could be set free, it seems unreal… too easy. But despite that they decide to enter. Builderman looks at his admin friends, a silent understanding. He steps forward to the portal. “Well… see you on the other side.”
Builderman steps inside, the light surrounding him. For a few seconds he feels weightless, like he's not a person anymore, but then he fells onto the ground. He stands up, looking around and he sees a city, covered in snow. It's been a while since he saw real snow. Builderman reaches out, allowing the snowflakes to fall on his hand. On the second glance he realises that the city looks destroyed and barricaded. Something seems wrong.
Out of the portal walk out other survivors. The ones wearing short sleeves notice the change in temperature, but it's not too drastic, because they're used to the cold in the purgatory.
Shedletsky however was a different story as his current outfit was only for summer and NOT for winter. The moment the former admin stepped out of the portal, his bare feet touched the snow. “Oh My Roblox! It's so COLD!!! My feet are freezing!!! I am freezing!!!”
“I don't think that's smart. Walking with bare feet into cold icy dark” Dusekkar told him.
“Really!? I had no idea!!!” Shedletsky shouted back sarcastically.
“W-Where even are we?”
“I don't know Noob, but I know I'm cold!!!”
“Wait. I recognise this place…” Chance starts speed walking in one direction, the rest of the survivors, while confused, also follows.
After a few minutes they arrive in front of an abandoned building. Builderman observes the gambler, wondering what it's all this about. They don't have time for a field trip. “Chance. Is there anything important? Or did you drag us here for nothing? We need to figure out what Spectre wants from us this time.”
“It's my casino…” Chance mutters out loud in disbelief.
“Excuse me?”
“It's my casino. So either Spectre is reading our memories, or we really are back…” Chance continues, completely baffled that he is back here again.
Builderman looks back at the building again. The casino looks like it hasn't seen better days, probably years if he has to guess? All the doors and windows were barricaded and the only places that weren’t were a few broken windows around it, with glass laying on the floor.
“I’ll be right back.” Chance suddenly says as he quickly leaves Builderman and heads towards the casino trying to find a way in.
“What? Hey!” Builderman called after him. “We have no time for reminiscing, Chance!”
“It's my casino! I deserve to know what happened. Besides… maybe we'll find some answers. If it's even real….”
“Builder, relax. Besides, I agree, inside at least there won't be any snow.” Shedletsky is shaking from the cold. His feet are becoming red. He quickly joins Chance in looking for a way inside.
Behind him, Builderman can hear Noob and Two Time quietly talking to each other.
“S-So um… you have never been to a city before?” Noob asks the cultist.
“A city? No, I have lived most of my life in a village where we praised our glorious Spawn.” Two Time explains.
“It’s this… what a normal city looks like?” Two Time asks curiously.
“Oh! Um… not really… t-they usually look a lot better than this.” Noob smiles embarrassed.
They continue talking until they suddenly hear Shedletsky calling over to them. “Hey guys! You might wanna see this...” His voice seems concerned, completely different everyone is used to.
Builderman makes his way inside, to join his friend. The tone of his voice made him worried. There's not a lot of things that can make Shedletsky worried. When he arrives at his friend's location, the sight makes his blood run cold.
There's a dead body of a Robloxian, with a bunch of guns and other weapons. The body is covered in multiple injuries. Around them is even more bodies of Robloxians… but they're not normal. They look like their code was corrupted, by something similar to John Doe’s corruption. “What happened here…?”
“Don't ask me. We found them like that. Not a pleasant sight, but I'm used to it.” Chance shrugs, despite their nonchalant persona, Builderman knows him long enough to know that it still affects him.
The rest of the survivors also join the group. A few gasps are heard once they see the body. Everyone is more or less used to the sight, but it doesn't mean that they want to see it.
Guest kneels next to the body. Taking note of the injuries. “It didn't happen a long time ago. So whatever killed them, it might still be here.” Then he spots a walkie talkie attached to the belt. He picks it up.
“##### Agent #### Can you hear me? The signal was cut. Please report.” A distorted voice calls out. Guest looks at their leader and hands it over.
Builderman pushes the button and starts speaking. “Hello sir. I'm sorry to announce but we found this walkie talkie next to a dead body.”
“#### Great…. This was an important mission. They were supposed to be ‘the best’. Stupid. ####”
“Could you explain to us what is going on? Me and my team were… isolated from the rest of the world for a while.” Once Builderman finishes speaking, the person on the other side sighs.
“You're either stupid, or lucky. There is an apocalypse. The Nightbounds will kill you sooner or later.”
“What…. The apocalypse…? This important mission. Was it supposed to help?”
“Of course. Now we're all doomed.” The voice says, clearly annoyed. Builderman slightly frowns, making eye contact with everyone present. They all know that whoever this person on the other side of the line is, they know what happened.
“If me and my team replaced your agent. Would you give us answers?”
“######## Do you even know how to ####-rvive? We're losing signal again…” The question makes Elliot roll his eyes. Others share his opinion. They all know survival too well.
“Yes. Yes we do. So, do we have the deal?”
“Fine… ######## you need to activate three out of ###### stations scattered across this city. They're marked by red lights. #### be airdrops with equipment. Try not to die, unless you want to #####-oom the world even more.” The signal cuts off. Builderman sighs, while Shedletsky tries to lighten up the mood.
“Whatever those ’Nightbounds’ are. They don't stand a chance against us…. And by ‘chance’ I don't mean our fellow survivor.” Shed smiles slightly. The group slightly shifts, people split into pairs walking around, getting to know their surroundings.
Builderman overhears the conversation between Guest and 007n7. “You know… I caused a lot of deaths. When I was still an exploiter. I wish I could make different choices. But this person… they deserve at least some kind of closure…”
“You're right.” Guest says, looking at the body. He unclenches the fists of the ‘agent’. He also moves them to a more secluded place in the casino. “Come on Buddy, let's make you look more at peace. I'm sorry we were late. Maybe if we were a few minutes earlier you could've lived....”
007n7 stands nearby “Sorry we couldn't do more for you…”
Builderman finds himself surprised by the amount of empathy the hacker is showing, but decides to ignore it. Focusing on the mission.
