Work Text:
One of the worst parts of being the holder of the, formerly broken, miraculous of emotion. Were the days when his head was reeling from magic and emotion, and his limbs felt like lead. When every bone in his body wanted nothing but sleep. Even when he couldn't.
Today, this landed him in Kagami's lap. She was combing her fingers through his hair. He slowly moved his hand down to meet Kagami's other hand, which was resting on his stomach. Even this small movement drained him near completely.
Kagami lightly shushed him. “It's okay,” her voice was light as a feather, “Just rest.” Kagami's hand brushed against his ring.
Felix's eyes fluttered shut. The lethargy in his body increased tenfold.
He couldn't stay awake if he tried. But, he couldn't sleep either. He just floated in this odd in-between state. Just waiting for this to be over. But not wanting it to be. The stable presence of Kagami felt like the only thing just barely tethering him to the real world.
When he woke up (Did it count as waking up if he was never truly asleep?) Kagami was still combing through his hair.
“Welcome back, sleepy head,” Kagami said, “Do you feel better?” He nodded. It was small and took way more effort than it should have.“You're a terrible liar when you feel unwell.” Felix leaned into Kagami's touch.
Once he gained the energy, he opened his mouth to speak.
“I love you.”
