Elphaba rode her broom with Galinda holding onto her tight as they made their way to Elphaba’s cottage.
When they entered Galinda looked around while Elphaba got changed. She noticed the pamphlet with the note she wrote before going with her to the Emerald City. “You know that they will come after you now,” said Elphaba.
“I don’t care,” replied Galinda turning to see Elphaba dressed in comfortable clothes, “as long as I’m with you, I don’t care what happens,” she said as she closed the space between them.
[Elphaba]“Kiss me to Fiercely, Hold me too tight, I need help believing you’re with me tonight, my wildest dreamings could not foresee, lying beside you, with you wanting me.”
The words Elphaba sang touched Galinda’s heart. They had always felt an unspoken attraction towards each other, the love they’ve had was powerful and it didn’t fade over the period of time they weren’t together.
“Just for this moment, as long as you’re mine, I’ve lost all resistance and crossed the borderline, and if it turns out it’s over too fast, I’ll make every last moment last, as long as you’re mine.”
Elphaba was expressing those deep powerful feelings that had been there since she first saw Galinda all those years ago at Shiz. Elphaba lightly kissed Galinda on the lips.
[Galinda] “Maybe I’m brainless, maybe I’m wise, But you’ve got me seeing through different eyes, somehow I’ve fallen under your spell,” Galinda cupped Elphaba’s cheek, “And somehow, I’m feeling it’s up that I fell. Elphaba took Galinda’s hand and kissed her palm.
Galinda turned around so Elphaba could embrace her from behind swaying to the beat of the song.
[Both] “Every moment as long as you’re mine, I’ll wake up my body and make up for lost time.”
[Galinda] “Say there’s no future for us as a pair,” Galinda sang as tears came down her cheeks as that very possibility began to creep in.
[Both] “And though I may know, I don’t care.” Elphaba wiped those tears away and Galinda smiled, “Just for this moment, as long as you’re mine,” The both of them thought back their time together when they were inseparable, when it was them and their friends to moments when it was just the two of them when nothing mattered but how they cared for each other. “come be how you want to and see how bright we shine, borrow the moonlight until it is through and know that I’ll be here holding you, as long as you’re mine.”
The two sat on the bed outside under the stars, “What is it?” asked Galinda.
“It’s just that for the first time I feel wicked,” replied Elphaba causing both women to smile and kiss passionately before laying down under the stars and making love. For the moment there was nothing, no Wizard, no Morrible, nothing just Elphaba and Galinda letting their love guide them.
The first rays of sunlight began to creep over the mountains, the first day of an uncertain future for Elphaba and Galinda but the one thing they know without the shadow of a doubt was that they would face it together.
