Scott and Jimmy were having an argument. Jimmy couldn’t really remember exactly what they were arguing about. Just something petty.
“That doesn’t mean-“ “For Void’s sake, stop it Scott!”
Jimmy cut Scott off, pushing him away. Scott stumbled back a little, looking shocked, but his hostility was gone. Jimmy’s hands flew to his mouth. Tears pecked his eyes. He stepped back, then flew off. Scott called out for him, but he didn’t hear. He just flew up, up, up…
Then started falling. He started panicking. Why was he falling? Why can’t he move his wings? Then he remembered. His wings were still wet and ruffled from Grian’s pool party. They were too heavy for him to fly.
He remembered the day he met Scott. He was going to jump off a bridge. Scott had convinced him not to. He called everyday after that to check in. Had this happened back then, he wouldn’t be scared. Hell, he’d embrace it. Now, he was terrified. He was happy. He and Scott were married, and were thinking about kids. He, Grian, and Joel had started a band like they had wanted to since high school. He had a bright future. And now, it was going to be over because he had tried to fly away in a panic.
He closed his eyes tight and wrapped his arms around himself. Not that it would help. He kept falling, falling, falling…
Then stopped. He had excepted falling to death to be painful. But it felt warm, familiar. Was this Heaven? No, he would probably go to Hell. He opened his eyes, expecting to see something afterlife related. Instead, he saw his husband, crying and holding him. Scott had managed to catch him.
“Oh thank the Void you’re alive,” Scott muttered.
Jimmy’s tears had started flowing harder. He wrapped his arms around Scott’s neck and buried his head in Scott’s neck.
“I’m so sorry. I panicked. I forgot my wings were wet…” Jimmy rambled, still crying.
“Shh… It’s ok Petal. All that matters is that you’re okay.” Scott stroked Jimmy’s hair softly, and Jimmy leaned into the touch. He loved Scott so much. He was so glad he got to marry him. He felt so bad for snapping at him and then immediately making him worried about him. Scott didn’t care about Jimmy snapping though. He just wanted his little canary to be ok.
