Scott cradled Jimmy in his arms. He felt the canary shaking in his arms. Scott didn’t blame him after what happened though. Scott held and comforted Jimmy for a bit longer before speaking up. “Do you want to go inside and cuddle for a while?”
Jimmy nodded, so the elf took him into their home. Scott set Jimmy down on the couch before sitting down next to him, wrapping his arm around his husband. Jimmy leaned against his shoulder, his bright yellow wings instinctively wrapping around Scott. A small, loving smile spread on Scott’s face. He pressed a soft kiss on Jimmy’s forehead, whom let out little happy chirps.
“I’m sorry for worrying you,” Jimmy said suddenly. Scott shook his head and snuggled closer. “Don’t apologize, Petal. It wasn’t your fault,” he reassured.
“But it was,” Jimmy insisted. “If I didn’t fly away, I wouldn’t have fallen, I wouldn’t have-“
“Jimmy. You panicked. Instinct took over. You’re ok now, that’s all that matters. I’m here for you, ok?”
Jimmy hesitated for a moment, then nodded. He nuzzled his head into the crook of Scott’s neck, his hand reaching out for Scott’s. The elf leaned his head on the canary’s, grabbing his hand gently.
The two of them sat in silence for a while, just enjoying each other’s company. Then they heard a knock on the door. They both jumped and turned to the door. Scott gave Jimmy a light peck on the cheek before getting up and opening the door.
“Where’s Jimmy?” Grian said the moment Scott opened the door, looking extremely worried for his brother. Joel was standing next to him, looking just as anxious. “We saw him fall earlier and needed to see if he was ok,” Joel explained. “He’s thankfully ok,” Scott explained to the other men. They both sighed in relief. “Can we see him?” Grian asked. Scott smiled warmly. “Of course, I’m sure he’d love to see you both.”
Scott lead the other two to the living room. Jimmy was still huddled up on the couch and looked up at the movement. His face lit up when he saw Grian and Joel, the former of whom ran over to hug his brother, probably using his wings to speed him up. Jimmy squawked a little, mostly out of surprise rather than protest. Joel, meanwhile, walked up to Jimmy and ruffled his hair, which Jimmy did protest a little. Joel just chucked.
Scott smiled at this scene. He was glad he had close friends outside of him and Tango.
Wait… Scott thought. We need to tell Tango about this. Scott didn’t want the blaze to be out of the loop. He was Jimmy’s boyfriend, after all.
Scott excused himself, then stepped into the kitchen to call Tango. He picked up on the second ring.
“Hello?” His voice said through the phone.
“Hey love. Can you come to the house?”
“Sure, is something wrong?” Tango asked. He sounded nervous. “Jimmy fell while flying earlier. He’s fine, and Grian and Joel are here too. Didn’t want to keep you out of the loop,” Scott explained.
“Got it. Be there in ten. See you soon, love you!”
“Love you too Tango, see you soon.”
Scott hung up and walked back into the living room. The three boys were conversing about songs they wanted to write. Scott got their attention and spoke. “Just talked to Tango, he’s on his way here. Also Joel, I’m usurping your seat, he’s my husband.” Joel pouted a little but moved to let Scott sit next to Jimmy. He understood, as he would do the same for Lizzie if she was in a similar situation.
Scott sat back down next to Jimmy, wrapping his arm back around Jimmy and holding his hand with his free one. Jimmy nuzzled into him, smiling.
The four of them talked for a bit until Tango made it to the house. He peeked into the living room, smiling and holding some chocolates. “Hello there my beautiful boyfriends.” Tango flirted. Grian and Joel snickered while Jimmy and Scott’s cheeks turned a light pink.
“Well, I think it’s about time we take our leave, right Joel?” Grian said, smirking. Joel returned the smirk. “Yeah, have fun lovebirds!” The duo ran off, leaving the other three alone.
Tango sat where Grian was sitting, and offered the chocolates to Jimmy. “Here you go love.” Jimmy smiled at Tango warmly, taking the chocolates. “Thanks Tango.” “Of course, anything for you.” Tango kissed Jimmy on the cheek before settling next to him.
Jimmy looked between his husband and his boyfriend, and his smile grew bigger. “I’m so lucky to have met you guys. I love you both.” “We love you too,” Scott and Tango said. The three boys cuddled together, enjoying each other’s company and nothing else.
