CLANG
The Arma Gigas's massive sword clashed with her axe creating a flash of sparks, Ruby slid back across the cold stone floor before She managed to steady herself.
With loud and powerful steps it dashed towards her as she crouched down before rocketing up in a flury of petals out of the way of it's next slash before bringing her polearm down against her larger foe only for it to bring up it's own weapon at the last second, the two blades clashing together again.
At that exact moment Ruby flipped a switch upon her weapon activating several mechanisms and with some quick mechanical whirling inside it the blade of her axe glowed red with a burst of intense heat that sent the possession Grim stumbling back!
'Perfect!'
She thought as she deftly landed back on the ground before racing back after the Arma Gigas while flicking another trigger upon her weapon, the blade now crackling with electricity as she ran.
It attempted to block with it's sword again only for the electricity to be conducted through it and damage the beast more!
Ruby allowed herself a small smirk and wound up for another strike
...only to be blindsided when the animated armor's leg kicked out slamming into her stomach!
She let out a breathless cry as she was sent flying back the breath knocked from her lungs, she eventually skided to a stop at the other end of the room, the landing impact knocking her weapon just out of her grasp.
'Stupid...Stupid...STUPID' She mentally berated herself as she pushed herself up with her arms, her aura feeling low.
...just in time to see the Arma Gigas swinging it's sword low at her launching Ruby again as it made contact, with her barley turning on her aura in time to stop it from taking her head off outright!
She rolled across the cold floor before hitting a wall and unsteadily getting up and seeing her opponent closing in again.
She could feel blood running down her face from the last attack, could taste it between her frantic panting and what drew that blood was getting closer my the second.
And she unarmed.
"We're never truly unarmed"
A younger Ruby sitting next to Winter in the courtyard after a little training
"What do you mean?" She tilted her head at her older sister
Winter looked down at Ruby with a small smile "Mother always said that, she said as long as we have our eyes we're truly never unarmed before a Grimm."
"Oh!" The younger girl let out as she excitedly looked into Winter's own twin pools of Silver "How do I use them? Like you and mom?"
Winter shook her head, her immaculate black hair shaking about and gave Ruby a affectionate look "It's still a little early for you to be learning but...if you ever really need it, think hard about what you love and truly wish to protect."
"Girls!" Klein suddenly called getting their attention as he walked out with a tray of food.
"I thought you might be getting hungry"
Ruby smiled wide and ran over to him...
Ruby opened her eyes and in a bright flash of silver light the Arma Gigas was sent stumbling back weakened!
When the light subsided she dashed past it in a burst of rose petals grabbing her lost weapon before making her way to the wall on the opposite side of the room, slamming the blade into the wall getting it stuck in there allowing her to stand horizontally upon handle flicking another switch causing it to glow green with wind Dust combining the force of the propelling gust of air with her semblance to race towards the enemy at incredible speed with massively increased power!
SHING
Ruby landed behind the Arma Gigas's body, twirling her axe as it's head hit the ground with a CLUNK.
The girl let out a sigh a retracted her axe into it's compact form
'Atta girl Noble Rose' she thought with a small smile while hooking Noble Rose on her belt and walking out of the room.
As soon as she exited she came face to face with a man clad in a white suit and tie with a red undershirt, his cole black hair only just beginning to show the signs of greying on the sides of his head.
Her father, Jacques Rose.
"Father" She stood at attention "I-"
"Was sloppy" he cut her off "You took several hits and even let it draw blood with your disgraceful weakness!"
Ruby ducked her head and stood stock still, used to scoldings like these and expecting this, still mentally berating herself for her slip ups in the battle.
"That being said, you did manage to utilize your eyes properly for the first time and defeated the Arma Gigas" he praised gruffly "So I shall permit you to study abroad at Beacon as you desire, however" he added sternly "I expect you to only improve from here Ruby, understand?"
"Yes father" she nodded
"Good, you are dismissed."
Ruby walked away with a slight spring in her step, joy filling her at her achievement
...dulled quickly when she saw the scar across her face in a windows reflection while waking down the hall.
"I should probably go see Klein, this might actually scar...."
