...unfortunately for her, that annoying girl with the glasses and the cheeky smile seemed insistent on getting her to do more.

“Is something wrong?” Yukari asks. “You’re acting really weird. It’s kind of worrying me, you know that?”
“Ah, is it?” Kotone’s smile falls. That was probably the wrong thing to say. “Sorry about that… I’m fine, really. I just wanted to spend some time with you.” She pulls the smile back up—not abnormal for her, but as Yukari watches, it seems to require a fair bit of effort, her eyes scrunching in a way that they don’t usually. “If you say we can do it after, then we can do it after… I’ll meet you when practice is over. I should stop distracting you from your studies, right? I’ll see you later.”
As Kotone turns around, Yukari reaches for her wrist to stop her. “Kotone—”
When Kotone stops, though, Yukari’s voice catches in her throat. She finds she isn’t quite sure what she wanted to say. Something just feels so off.

Yukari meets with Kotone for food after classes. The ritual is common, but the state her best friend is in is not.
