Summary
There was a reason you hadn't seen your father since you were twelve. His dodgy business dealings and less than savoury company had encroached upon yours and your mother's life, bringing along the kind of danger that wasn't worth his presence. Since your mother kicked him out, you hadn't heard a peep. Nowadays, you didn't spare him a passing thought, having graduated, moved out, and gotten a job. Who knew what he was up to now, if he was even still alive. So when you got in your car after work, you didn't think to check the back seat, didn't notice the large shadow lurking. Not until you felt the gun at your ribs.
