Mensah never expected the PreservationAux team to grow so big.
Originally, it was just her, Pin-Lee, and Bharadwaj. But then Pin-Lee had introduced Ratthi, and Bharadwaj had introduced Volescu, and Ratthi had introduced Overse and Arada.
Then Gurathin came along. Nobody had needed to introduce him or give a pitch on why he should join the team–the decision was unanimous.
And then there was SecUnit. It didn’t seem to think of itself as part of the team, but everybody else knew it was.
Mensah didn’t tell it, but she looked over that message it had left her, all those standards ago, often. She hovered over the last few lines particularly often.
“That’s why I left you, Dr. Mensah, even if you are my favourite human.”
