   Summary

   James Costa lives the life of a pirate. Things are about as well as they could be while trapped in the open sea with obnoxious crewmates, the captain being manipulated by his right hand man and lover, and unpredictable weather. So, conditions aren't that good, but hey; at least there's riches involved! There were only a few more days until they reached home, and the chances of something happening were slim.

   Slim, but never zero.

   Mermaids weren't supposed to be real, and James wasn't supposed to be assigned the task of keeping one alive until they reached the shore. His real problem? Getting to know the being caught in a fishing net, and what came with it.

   Aiden Brooks is a mermaid; one of the most recognizable creatures from mythology. He was supposed to live a safe life away from the surface or shoreline.

   Things don't always go as planned.

   A curious mistake finds Aiden trapped in a strange contraption he didn't know the name of, with a smug human watching over him. Reciprocating the stranger's efforts to get to know him would be a mistake; Aiden had a habit of making those.
