Summary
It has been hundreds of years since a deadly red star last visited the beautiful world called Pern, but now, an ancient threat that has plagued the planet for millennia once again looms on the horizon. Vi’s premonitions set her apart from the skeptical populace of Zaun. When she is selected by dragonriders to leave her home and join their ranks, it looks like she might have a real opportunity to protect her family from the danger that no one believes is coming. But nothing is what she expects when she arrives at Piltover Weyr, especially not the blue-eyed Weyrleader’s daughter.
Caitlyn is ready to abandon the privilege of her position when a tragic accident removes any hope she had of seeing the world, and she finds herself telepathically bonded to the golden dragon queen and shouldering more responsibility than she had ever imagined. Isolated by her position and destined to pair with a person not of her choosing, she forges a friendship with the pink-haired recruit from Zaun who defies expectation at every turn.
