Till pulls his knees into his chest, nuzzling his chin into the blanket on top of them.
"It's not the first time it's happened, and it surely will not be the last." Ivan looks like he wants to say more, his eyes narrowing on the empty space between them, suspended in nothing, smile faded.
"Well, I didn't," Till adds. And he also wants to say more, should say more. How he's grateful to live another day—how he should be saying thank you for letting me use your resources and hey, sorry for trying to pull a knife on you!
A barely audible chuckle shakes Ivan's upper body, lips unable to hide his snaggletooth.
"What's so funny?"
"You're absolutely awful at hiding what you're thinking."
