Work Header

stop by day6

Summary:

It was silent between the group for a good moment before Jeongin could see Chan’s face morph into something akin to a grateful worshiper.

“Ha, maybe I don’t need to strap myself onto the roof! Jeongin, play So Good!”

Jeongin can only blink, trying to process his place in the seating arrangement, “What the hell is So-”

And that’s how they ended up in the car on this random road trip; Jisung driving, Seungmin passenger, Hyunjin right, Chan left, and…
Jeongin middle.

The man must’ve complained about forty times, all with the same degree of pettiness, just in slightly different words and tones. That was, until Jisung seemingly had enough and started blasting his music even louder.

“Yah! Hyung, you know hearing loss is a thing, right?!”

(Or, Jisung, Seungmin, Hyunjin, Jeongin and Chan go on a short road trip.)

Work Text:

This was a terrible idea.

Well, it was just a brief idea at first. Jisung was missing Felix, so he jokingly threw out the idea of driving a few hours to visit him during their next break. None of them expected to actually be doing this, but…

To be fair, a bunch of insane college students probably shouldn’t be trusted behind an itinerary and a steering wheel.

Well, the person they shouldn’t be trusting right now is Jisung. Han Jisung, who is currently the one behind the wheel for whatever reason. Han Jisung, who—

“NO MATTER WHAT YOU TRY, THERE’S NO-“

—is blasting music on the radio in the car. “STOP,” Day6, it reads.

They had decided the seating arrangement like any stupid, indecisive group of people would. Rock paper scissors.

No one remembers why they decided to let Han Jisung drive, but the next seats were decided by the classic game. It was probably the most dramatic thing they could have done, with the way Seungmin was cheering like he won the lottery when he got the passenger seat. Thank god Jisung is in the driver’s seat, actually, otherwise Seungmin probably wouldn’t be wearing a seatbelt right now. And probably wouldn’t be living to see the next day.

The next game of rock paper scissors determined the right seat, the triumphant person being Hyunjin. The man took about five seconds to process his win, already accepting the fact that he could’ve been stuck in the middle. As soon as those five seconds were over, though, he joined Seungmin in celebration, jumping up and down. Jeongin and Chan turned to look at each other, realizing the implications of this win. Chan had a look of “I’m going to shove you out the window,” but just smiled nervously. Meanwhile, Jeongin sincerely looked ready to fight the man, shoulders drawn up tight.

Chan said that if he were to get the middle seat, he was “going to strap himself to the roof instead,” whatever that means. Jeongin responded with nothing but a dead stare. The two tied in their rock paper scissors maybe about five times before coming to an actual conclusion:

Chan was holding up a fist, rock, while Jeongin had his hand as scissors.

“Well, hearing isn’t the only thing you’ve lost in the past hour, hm?”

Jeongin takes a second to process the comeback but looks at the driver as if he’d somehow cursed his entire bloodline. Maybe making fun of his loss somehow equated to that. Maybe winning rock paper scissors was sacred in his family. Seungmin just smirked at his reaction.

“Then don’t blame me if I throw up on you or Hyunjin later,” Jeongin chose as his response to Jisung, also narrowing his eyes at Seungmin in the process. He attempted to lean back in his seat. The headrest was just a hint too short. Goddammit.

“Aish, what the hell did I do?” Hyunjin said, hearing his name somehow get thrown into the conversation.

“You’re right next to me, and I think you’re more fitting than Chan for such a thing,” Jeongin snarked at the older man before leaning his head back in an attempt to remove himself from the entire situation. Unfortunately, he forgot the headrest was still too short to actually function as a headrest. Yang Jeongin started wondering if begging to switch seats was below him.

They still don’t know who allowed Han Jisung to drive, but so far no casualties have happened. Emphasis on so far.

Well, other than everyone’s ears. The Great Attack of Day6.

Slowly, instead of arguing, everyone decided to do their own thing for the time being. Several of them chose to listen to their own music through their headphones, the rest either looking at something on their phone or simply staring out the window. For a while, it was quiet (other than Jisung’s music), with a hint of understanding that they all needed this kind of moment.

The surroundings slowly filtered out to more of the rural side as they kept driving. The land was becoming more visible, and that was when Seungmin looked at the route they were taking on his phone.

“Hyung.”

Seungmin turned towards Jisung, the other briefly glancing towards Seungmin before his eyes were back on the road. “Yeah?”

“There’s a gas station coming up, and it’s the last one for a while. We should fill up and maybe get some stuff for the rest of the road.”

“Oh, okay. Do I have to turn?” Jisung’s gaze flickers towards his phone that is currently being used as their navigation.

“No.”

Jisung just nods one last time before squinting at the road ahead. Seungmin is surprised they’re even still on it.

The ride continued to be silent for a while until Jisung spotted said gas station Seungmin had been pointing out earlier. He tapped Seungmin who looked like he’d been drifting off, motioning towards the back of the car. It seems everyone had started drifting off too. Seungmin sighed before facing towards the back.

“Yah, guys. We’re making a stop, and there won’t be anything else for a while.”

Only Jeongin stirred at that, probably because the headrest made it hard to even fall asleep in the first place. Bleary eyed, he looked around. Noticing his friends still asleep, he took it as an opportunity to exercise his nonexistent maknae privileges.

Said privileges being turning to the left and slapping Hyunjin in the side of the head, causing the man to jerk awake, startled.

“Yah, what the hell-” Hyunjin is turning towards the hand that slapped him almost immediately.

But Jeongin had already moved on to Chan, who was on the other side of him. All he did to the elder was tap him on the shoulder a few times. Chan stirred awake after a bit, blinking momentarily.

Hyunjin looked ready to toss Jeongin straight out the window. Jeongin promptly chose to ignore him as Seungmin started speaking again.

“Well now that you guys are actually awake, we’re stopping by a gas station. It’s the last place for a while.”

Chan was definitely awake then, leaning forward a little bit, “I’ll pay for the gas-”

Everyone turned to face him, even Jisung giving his own brief look.

Chan’s eyebrows scrunched up slightly, “What?”

“You are not paying for that.”

“Eh?”

“Yeah, hyung, we can all pitch in,” Jisung added. Everyone started nodding along, and Chan thinks that that’s maybe the first time everyone agreed on something in a while.

“Ah, fine. But I can pay for snacks—”

A loud, simultaneous “No” from everyone rings in the car. Chan just takes that as a sign and slumps back in his seat. Not without side eyeing the window though.

They finally pull up to the gas station, and Seungmin stays behind to fill the car with gas. All he says is to get him some yogurt (if they had any), and everyone else is off to the small store with the gas station, determination powering their wallets.

The bell on the door jingles obnoxiously when Hyunjin first steps in. It only proceeds to become more obnoxious as the rest of them follow. Jeongin and Chan are immediately off to the refrigerated section for drinks, Jisung and Hyunjin left to scour the snacks section.

Eventually the four gather up all that they wanted. Various chips, some candy (probably mostly from Jeongin), water, other sweet drinks, and the yogurt Seungmin requested…

It’s kind of comical, really. They haul up the items to the front to pay. The worker just looks at the pile of things incredulously before he’s scanning them silently. Hyunjin reads the worker’s nametag. TOBI.

He kind of reminds Hyunjin of Seungmin.

“Hey, you look kind of familiar—”

Before he gets to finish that thought, there is a Jeongin staring at him with a look that says something like, “Hyunjin, that is a random worker from a 7/11 in the middle of nowhere. You don’t know him.” Which he thinks is rude, but also probably him reading into expressions too deeply. He’d like to argue that others don’t read into it enough, but now he’s also just arguing with himself.

The worker is still scanning the forty million things when Hyunjin speaks up again. The worker is then giving the same look Seungmin gives him when he’s saying something nonsensical. Well, nonsensical from Seungmin’s point of view, specifically. He thinks he makes a lot of sense.

“No, I swear I’ve seen you from somewhere… like… sugarly motivated. With a bunch of rides. Or-”

Jisung suddenly appears from around the corner, interrupting Hyunjin’s rant. No one really knew when he left in the first place. “Uh, the coffee machine may be broken?”

The Tobi guy just blinks, a single tear falling from his eye before he’s cursing and turning to the side to—

“Keith! The coffee machine!” Tobi guy shouts to the door behind the counter before continuing to scan the—...how many things did they fucking buy?

Jeongin will choose to ignore the fact that a lot of the load may be his candy. Another guy bursts through the door Tobi guy was shouting at, same exact uniform as each other. Said uniform honestly looks more like a glorified black apron, but Jeongin won’t comment on it. It screams the minimum wage-teenaged tiredness that both of these workers exude. He would probably look the same if someone like Jisung broke his coffee machine.

At the very least, they both had glorious colored hair that can only really be admired by everyone. Very much a plus, if you ask any of them.

The guy-who-came-through-the-door pulls out a box from nowhere and he’s staring at the coffee machine like it personally offended him.

“Fuck this…” Jisung can briefly hear guy-who-came-through-the-door mutter under his breath.

Jisung snuck back over to the rest of them, coffee completely forgotten, and the Tobi guy is still scanning everything. Chan is staring at the cashier like he’s starting to feel bad.

The total final comes up to $67.69 dollars. Chan stares at the price incredulously, eyeing the items they have like he’s wondering if they could possibly get rid of any, before ultimately deciding to get busy with trying to get his card to work. Jeongin stares at the total number intensely. Hyunjin turns towards Jeongin as he realizes what that stare means.

“No,” is what immediately leaves his lips.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“No.”

Jeongin just stares at Hyunjin with wide eyes, before he ultimately gives up. They finally get their three bags of useless junk from Tobi guy. Jisung looks over and the guy-who-came-through-the-door, who he remembers Tobi guy calling Keith, is still staring at the coffee machine unsuccessfully. Hyunjin swears he’s getting déjà vu from this scenario. It reminds him awfully of–

The four finally walked out of the store after what felt like centuries, and the first thing they heard from Seungmin was—

“Guys, what the hell took so long in the-”

His words stopped immediately as he spotted the sheer amount of items they bought, all piled up into three fat bags.

“...How much was all of this, exactly? Don’t tell me Chan ended up paying for all of it”

Jisung stopped in his tracks on his way towards the driver’s seat. Chan blinked at all of them, already opening one of the car doors. Hyunjin turned behind him and looked Jeongin dead in the eyes. Unfortunately, he turned a second too late, because-

“Like SIXty SEVEN dollars. And no, Chan didn’t pay for all of it. We-”

All of them got into the car and slammed the doors straight in Jeongin’s face.

“Guys, I wasn’t serious- guys it’s not my fault that’s the actual price of-guys–”

-

The car ride was silent for the next five minutes or so. Jeongin’s abominable joke shook the masses. No one is ever recovering from this. Especially not Jeongin, apparently.

Jeongin is sure that this solidified his position in the car. His horrible, dreaded, and headrest-too-short seat. Maybe he could have begged to switch seats at any other point, but now, he’s banished to The Middle Seat for the rest of the drive. He doesn’t even remember how long it is. Can he even ask now? Or will the sky personally strike him down? Maybe that would be a fitting punishment. Was his six seven joke really that bad? It wasn’t his fault the group decided to spend sixty dollars at a fucking gas station. He doesn’t even remember what they all bought. Who does that, anyway? Not him. He would never-

“How much longer do we have of this drive?” are the first words anyone says in a while. Hyunjin.

Jeongin is thanking the heavens above for Hyunjin, because he’s not sure if he can even say anything for the next hour without being throttled. Seungmin glanced down at his phone, opening up his maps app.

“Like… two and a half hours?”

Hyunjin just nodded before leaning against the side of the car, his head resting on his forearm. Chan had already nodded off, his head leaning back in his seat.

Jeongin condemned his seat once more. He wished to sleep this drive away so nothing happened to him, but alas, he was still stuck in The Middle Seat. His head was starting to hurt just from that. How unfair.

Not like Jeongin’s ever been good with car rides, he doesn’t think anyone here has, but he assumed this time he’d be somewhat okay. It wasn’t that crazy of a drive. Perhaps he just hadn’t expected to be in The Middle Seat on this godforsaken drive

In an attempt to ignore his growing headache, he tapped Seungmin on the shoulder. “Can you give me one of the candy bags?”

Jeongin pointed to the bags piled at the front, and Seungmin looked inside them reluctantly. He ends up tossing Jeongin a bag of gummy bears.

He was opening the pack when Seungmin spoke up. “Despite the fact you guys bought so much, don’t fill up completely on the snacks.”

For a second, that’s all Seungmin says. Then, his face morphs into something like doubt and incredulity.

“Why did you guys spend so much at the gas station?”

“I don’t even know, man,” Jeongin’s already popped like three gummies in his mouth. Enough sugar to temporarily stave off his headache.

“I swear I only bought one bag of chips and some water,” Jisung commented unhelpfully. Jeongin just shrugged as Seungmin sighed and turned forward again. The man looked ready to doze off as well.

Jeongin’s a jealous guy, but never in his life did he think he’d feel it so strongly towards a car seat. He just wanted to lean back normally.

Folding the plastic and rolling it up slightly, he saves the rest of the gummies before deciding he has to make do with the stupidly short headrest in his seat if he wants even a hint of rest or sleep on the drive.

Or he could be annoying and exercise nonexistent maknae privileges again.

Jeongin looks to the side, wondering who he could annoy more. Hyunjin was the easy choice.

Jeongin leaned to the side to rest his head on Hyunjin’s arm, no regards for his seatbelt. He feels the older shift underneath him, grumbling annoyedly, but he doesn’t do anything to get Jeongin off. He sees that as a win.

Dozing off is definitely easier now, and Jeongin can feel his eyes slipping close. He ignores the impending neck pain he will have when he wakes up.

The car is actually silent now, the only one awake being Jisung.

Jisung doesn’t really know how long they are driving before a bump shakes almost everyone in the car awake. Seungmin is the first to sit up, staring back at the road. Hyunjin groans, almost slapping Jeongin off of him, and in turn startling the man awake. Chan doesn’t make a noise, but his facial expression conveys enough of what he’s feeling. How dare he be woken up.

“Jisung, did you run over a fucking animal or something?” Seungmin asked, his head snapping back to see why the whole car seemingly shook.

“No,” the driver deadpanned. “That’s just the road. Who do you think I am?”

“How much longer is there?” Hyunjin tried. He is promptly ignored as a statement is then heard from Chan.

“A bad driver, that’s who.Chan is suddenly remarking, his head also turned backwards. Jeongin also seemed to turn back at that, but his reaction is unapparent.

“Guys, if it was an animal, I wouldn’t have even run it over. I wouldn’t be able to.”

“Yeah, well, I don’t really trust you on that,” Seungmin decided was the best way to cut in. Perhaps the look he got from Jisung was worth it.

“My head fucking hurts, man…” Jeongin ended up groaning out amidst the whole conversation.

Hyunjin huffed at that statement before attempting to ask again. “How much longer do we have–”

“You know, if it was any of you driving, I think you would kill something.”

“Yeah, well, I think you would kill someone-”

“Aish, you fucking carrots, how much longer do we have of the car ride?!”

Every part of the conversation came to a pause as they turned towards Hyunjin. Carrots. Whatever that meant. Seungmin’s lips pressed together as he pulled out his phone slowly.

“Around thirty minutes.”

“Okay then. Thanks.”

Hyunjin turned back to the window silently, looking out of it calmly. Jisung raised an eyebrow at the randomness of the man, but focused back towards Seungmin.

“Well, regardless of who’s driving, that doesn’t change the fact that that was just a bump in the road,” Jisung argued.

“We are not continuing this conversation.”

As those two continued to bicker over who even knew what anymore, Chan turned to look at Jeongin. Jeongin, who was currently scarfing down the rest of the gummy bears in the bag he took earlier. Chan doesn’t even get time to comment on it as the plastic of the packaging is crumpled up and shoved into Jeongin’s hoodie pockets.

“I think I know what snack you like.”

“Uh huh. Can I have one of the juices?” Jeongin points to the bags near the front again. Chan glances towards the youngest with a side eye before he’s reaching towards the bag. He doesn’t know why he has to grab it, but he digresses. He managed to grab one and tosses it to Jeongin, to which he received a quiet thanks. Hyunjin seemed to notice this, and he looked at Chan himself.

“Channie-hyung, can you give me one of the chips?”

Chan stared at Hyunjin, mouth slightly open, before he leaned forward again and grabbed a random chip bag. He threw it at Hyunjin obnoxiously. Great.

Seungmin turned back towards Chan. “Hyung, can you give me a-”

“The bag is literally right in front of you.”

“So what.”

Seungmin was sure he saw Chan’s eye twitch before the man grabbed the whole bag loudly, and threw a random thing straight at Seungmin’s face. Smack center, right at his nose.

The two were now silently staring at each other with something that could only really be described as annoyance. They both sat back down after that, Hyunjin and Jeongin on the side glancing at each other after watching the whole interaction. Jeongin just shrugged while actively sipping on his juice.

The car ride became fairly silent again, but if the past few events were something to go by, it definitely wouldn’t last long. Seungmin is eating whatever was thrown at him. Chips, or something.

The peace is predictably disrupted again when Seungmin throws one of the chips at Chan. For a second, it was a battle on Chan’s face as to whether or not he wanted to engage in this. The way Seungmin smirked briefly was enough for Chan to throw the chip right back at Seungmin’s nose once more.

“Guys, can we not like, throw chips. Everywhere inside the car,” Jisung cut in as the chip was thrown for the third time. His eyes narrowed at them.

“Not my fault he started it. I would never throw around food otherwise,” Chan stated. Seungmin only interjected, and suddenly another chip was being tossed around.

“You fold under zero pressure, then.”

“I do not… I just dislike food being thrown at me…”

“Then why are you continuing this?”

The two continue to go back and forth, both with words and chips. It was almost hard to remember that one of the people currently throwing the chips was also the oldest. Perhaps the two were just masters at ragebaiting each other. Jisung is unsure how two people are able to cause so much of a scene during the last twenty minutes of a road trip.

“Can you just eat the chips like a normal person–” Chan tried as an attempt to get the Chip Throwing to stop.

“I think this is a fairly normal use of chips, actually.”

Hyunjin was just laughing at the whole situation in disbelief. There was no way two adults were arguing so pettily and throwing chips at each other. He turned to the side, facing Jeongin.

“Iyen-ah, are you seeing this?”

“I wish I wasn’t,” the younger ended up gritting out. The headache still hadn’t gone away despite his attempts to redirect his attention to his immense sugar intake earlier. Whatever this Chip Throwing was somehow made it all worse.

For a moment, it seemed like the two would argue until they got to their destination. There was only maybe ten minutes left anyway, and everyone already braced themselves for that possibility. That was, until there was another obnoxious bump in the road.

Seungmin and Chan stopped arguing immediately, both turning to look at Jisung. The man tried not to react.

“Is the car supposed to do that?”

Chan.

“It was just a bump,” Jisung sighs, realizing the attention was now drawn back to him.

“Are you sure it was not, like, you?”

Seungmin.

It seemed while the two were good at ragebaiting each other most of the time, they could easily team up and do the same towards someone else. Jisung was the unfortunate victim this time around. He should’ve known.

“What would I have even done to warrant that?”

“Maybe you drive so badly, the car doesn’t like you anymore.”

“That literally makes no sense.”

Jeongin and Hyunjin can see more and more buildings come into view. They were almost there. Hyunjin was searching for the specific cafe they always noticed on their way to Felix’s place. Tuning out whatever chaos that happened in the car became easy, at this point.

“I’m really not sure, Sungie. What if the car breaks down suddenly because of those mishaps?”

“They were quite literally just bumps in the-”

“Sure, but the car says otherwise.”

“The car isn’t saying anything, actually.”

“Y’know, if one of us were driving…”

“I’ve literally been driving us for three hours and nothing has happened.”

“Yeah, yet. Accidents happen closest to home-”

“We aren’t even home.”

Hyunjin actually spotted the cafe now, and he grabbed Jeongin’s attention by tapping on his shoulder.

“We shouldn’t be that far then. This cafe was what—four to five minutes away?”

Jeongin only hummed. He looked rather pale.

“It’s okay, Jisung, I can drive if you want-”

“That is not happening. We’re literally like two minutes away.”

“But you’re not turning the wheel right—”

Jisung seemingly had enough, and he sped up as much as he could without it becoming illegal. Maybe to get to Felix’s house sooner, who knows. Seungmin looks outside at the scene passing by incredulously.

“Are you trying to get a speeding ticket?”

“I swear to god-

Jisung and Seungmin continued arguing, but Chan went silent for a moment as he spotted something in the distance.

“Uh, Jisung? This is a residential area, remember? Did you go down the wrong street? There’s a car-”

Neither Jisung nor Seungmin seemed to hear him. Chan can definitely tell that there is a car that they’re currently rapidly approaching. This is an elaborate joke. This is a stupid plot device. Unfortunately, they’re on a one-way street-

“Jisung. Slow down—”

Jisung seemed to hear that then, frowning as he properly focused on everything in front of him. He swore under his breath as he slammed his foot on the brakes. Seungmin shouted at the random lurch. Suddenly, everyone in the back was holding on to each other, as if it would save them from possible death. The Power of Friendship.

The car slows to a decent speed, but not enough to brake completely. The two cars turn out of the way for the most part, but they run into each other on the side, causing a nasty metallic screech. Jisung thinks he hasn’t heard a worse noise. Well, at least it wasn’t [CAR CRASHI (GLASS SHATTERING] “GOOD LORD” [GENERAL COMMOTION] [BABY CRYING] “WAAAHHHH WAHHH” [YELLING] “DAMN BTCH SHUT DAT DAMN BABY UP” [POLICE SIRENS] WEE WOOO WEE WOOO [HELICOPTERS] “ WE’RE REPORTING LIVE FROM THE CRIME SCENE-“ (EXPLOSIONI MY LEG..... MY LEG......

It takes a second for them to process what exactly happened, but Jisung was the first to look up, surprisingly.

The first thing he noticed was that Jeongin was pretty much curled up, and not looking so hot. It took him a moment to realize what exactly this meant, and then Hyunjin was also suddenly up, shaking everything out of the snack bag frantically. The plastic bag was promptly shoved into Jeongin’s face, the man thankfully emptying most of his stomach inside of it rather than on Hyunjin’s shoes. Unfortunately, some spit did end up on Hyunjin’s shoes.

Well, at least the Power of Friendship saved them. Maybe they should’ve listened to the title of that one song Jisung was blasting earlier. Stop-

Jisung noticed Felix appeared to be running out of his car, coming over to theirs.

Oh. Felix? This really was a stupid plot device.

Jisung has to reach over Seungmin to roll the window down.

“Oh my god, I’m so s— Jisung?”

Jisung just let out a nervous laugh, “Hi.”

Felix stared at the whole bunch in disbelief, jaw opened. He’d almost ran into this car going at unnecessary speeds in a residential area, and it turned out to be his friends. From like three hours away. How ridiculous can this get?

“I know we didn’t really… fully run into each other, but are the cars okay? Did you see?”

Felix turned to glance at where the cars met before shaking his head. “No, that doesn’t matter right now, we have to get to the clinic, probably…”

That idea is confirmed from the groan they hear from Seungmin.

-

Felix stared at the bunch as Seungmin was led away, and the rest still looked very much pale.

Thankfully, the cars only had some scratches on them. They were on the bigger side, but nothing too detrimental to each other and their bank accounts. Hopefully. Jisung is not researching that right now.

Chan is talking to the person at the front desk, and Hyunjin is speaking in dramatics, saying how he “almost got decapitated.” Jeongin would be paying more attention to the hint of concealed panic in Hyunjin’s words, and the way he kept glancing to where Seungmin went, if it weren’t for the fact he wanted to prevent himself from keeling over again. Jisung’s hand was just resting on his back.

Felix looked at the clock, as if counting how much longer he had to be there, and then looked at the ground.

“I’m surprised you guys made it all the way here with minor… casualties.”

He chose to ignore what happened around fifteen minutes ago. Chan is next to Felix now, eyeing the other man.

“Jisung was missing you and it turned into an elaborate plan.”

“Ah. Well, I’m glad you guys are here. Other than the…”

“Do you have room for snacks at your place?” Chan suddenly cut in, looking up with expectant eyes.

Felix looked at Chan in disbelief.

“What?”

“We may or may not have spent SIXty SEVEN dollars at the gas station.”

Felix stared at Chan in even more disbelief, like this situation somehow got worse and worse. “And you didn’t eat all of it?”

Chan looked to the side while cringing. Felix just sighed and checked the clock again.

“I think I have to call my manager…”

“Huh?”

“I was on my way to work when you guys decided to… almost crash into me,” Felix said, drawing out the last part like it was somehow awkward to say. Chan was just rubbing the back of his head now.

“Ah… what’s their name? Maybe I can bail-?”

“I don’t think that’s how it works.”

“It doesn’t hurt to try things…”

Felix stared at Chan with an unreadable expression. Maybe he thought Chan also needed treatment like Seungmin. Maybe get checked for symptoms of whiplash. One look give ‘em whiplash, right?

“Sara.”

Hyunjin thought the name sounded familiar, having been listening to part of their conversation now that he was done with his dramatics.

He then shook his head and decided that he had officially gone insane. All day, he’s been thinking he knows these random people just from their names. There are like a million people named Sara.

Maybe he should email this ‘Sara.’ Maybe it was Sara’s fault they (almost) crashed into Felix. Maybe it’s Sara’s fault he almost got decapitated.

What a great plan. Sara will never recover from this.
