Chapter Text

They had arrived.

Recalling man had not found their base, but it was only a matter of time now before the proclaimed god found this location. After all, the voidling could find them anywhere they went, somehow.

The two of them, Loonac and Nufuli, had barely saved their missing friend from dying at Recallingman's hands.

When they first were making the first voidhole for escaping the creative mode player and saw the multiple death messages including Dimo's, they realized something was wrong, especially when some ban messages appeared. They rushed to help the dove hybrid, and managed to get him out safely, well Dimofyy was on his last life, having lost two and Nufuli lost one as well but to the guardian hybrid it was worth it if it meant being able to hang out with his friend once more on the server.

They had saved him, Nufuli and Loonac had risked their lives for him. They weren't really allied or teaming on the server despite being really good friends, it made sense that the three of them teamed if they had really good synergy together.

Dimofyy couldn't let go of what happened, of them saving him and asking for nothing in return. He needed to do something to make this heavy feeling in his chest, something to make the whispers saying that he was useless go away.
The white dove didn't have something to give his two saviours, he had just died two times and got his base destroyed for gods sake. But he had something else, better than an object or a physical thing, Dimofyy had information on the enemy and he was willing to spill everything he knew right then and there.

And so he did, he told them everything. How he and his team suspected the creative player had a control room somewhere in the nether, how the glitched player could teleport to anyone in the entire server and more. He rambled for a while as the other two listened, when he stopped at the end he realized he probably should have been taking more breaks to take his breath because he was breathless. His wings puffed in embarrassment as Loonac laughed at him, even Nufuli let out a fair share of giggles at that moment.

“This has been such a chaotic day,” Dimofyy said from his place on the light hanging from the ceiling, just like the bird he was, “I think it's time for me to log off.”

Nufuli hummed in agreement, while Loonac piped up, “Yeah, I agree.”

“Alright, see you tomorrow guys!” The white dove said goodbye before logging off, leaving the remaining two to their shenanigans as they realized they never really finished the void holes.

The next time Dimofyy logged on, Loonac and Nufuli had just arrived at the base after getting jumped by Recallingman, again.

The atmosphere on the underground haven was heavy with tension, the air was cold, well colder than normal being sixty meters underground. While he waited for his new found allies, Dimofyy made himself a room in their base, the entrance of which was in one of the four water pools where the entrance of base was located. He mostly did this to keep himself busy inside the base, it wasn't like he was weak on the contrary he was a great fighter, not as skilled as Nufuli of course. But he didn't want to go outside on his own yet, knowing Loonac and Nufuli were being hard targeted by this particular asshole, he didn't want to put any more burdens on any of their shoulders if he needed help or worse, he got taken hostage again.

“So what's the plan this time?” He asked, but he already had a feeling on what they wanted to do. He pulled his wings back, tight against his body instinctively.

Loonac and Nufuli shared a look, the later took the initiative, sighed heavily and then started speaking, “We are going to search for the control room, we think that's the only way to stop Recallingman.”

“Yeah,” The snowman said next, “The command room you were talking about? We really need to find it as soon as possible, we really need to do something about it.” He carried on speaking as he paced around the room, “Like, at a certain point we are going to run out of luck and someone isn't going to make it out.”

“Dimo, you said it was on the nether right?” The guardian asked, as they talked Loonac made some sort of gesture to Nufuli who nodded his head in agreement, The snowman quickly headed to the shared storage room to get something. Dimo tilted his head confused but didn't think much of it.

“Yeah, me and my team didn't really find exactly where but we thought it was on the nether roof-” The white dove hybrid was suddenly interrupted by Loonac who turned him around, and was holding out one armor trim template on one of his hands for him to take, on the other one a gold ingot shimmering against the bright light of the base.

“For me?” Dimofyy's voice wavered and a warm feeling spread throughout his body that defeated the numbing ice-cold air that started as soon as the other two got back from escaping Recallingman at the void. Against his will his wings flustered showing his friends exactly how emotional he was getting.

“If you are going to be with us from now on, we might as well get you a matching chestplate.” Loonac told one of his best friends who was definitely not about to tear up. His voice was soft and full of warmth despite being a snowman, "Isn't that right Nufuli?”

Dimofyy's head turned so fast towards Nufuli it might as well have given him whiplash, his eyes widened and he opened his mouth to talk, but the guardian beat him to it. “Yeah, You're part of the team now, Dimo!” He exclaimed, “well, you already were but now it is going to be official."

“Oh my god!” Dimofyy yelled in excitement, “I-I can't believe it!” His voice wavered again, a few happy tears escaped as much as he tried not to cry. “This is so tuff, we are so tuff!” The white dove quickly caught Loonac who was the closest one to him in a hug, his wings puffing up, he let go so the snowman could catch his breath.

“Yup, Yeah we are.” Nufuli said, strangely vulnerable, his voice just as warm as Loonac's. The guardian gently caressed his cheeks whipping his tears away, his usually still as a rock tail was now swishing from side to side showing how much he trusted them. “How about a commemorative photo, right now?”

“Yes, yes yes!” Dimo piped up, catching both of them in a hug as Nufuli took out his com to screenshot this grand moment.

“Now, you two go to the end and I go to the nether?”

“Yeah sure.”

“To get me an elytra, right guys?”

“Yup, come on now Dimo!”

The next time the three of them were at the base, their spirits were high. They had found the control room and Recall's stash of illegal items and had taken the death potion which they were going to use to kill the creative player, somehow.

As much as he didn't want to step down to the glitched player's level, he was as curious as his friends and decided to take one item from the hidden barrel, the debug stick. It didn't really have any use or do anything since he was in survival, but he loved to wak everything with it. The glorified stick was Dimofyy's now and no one would take it away, as long as he is still here.

Anyways, the three of them thoroughly discussed their next steps. They decided on one plan despite Loonac's doubts, that Nufuli misinterpreted it like the snowman was losing his trust on him, which wasn't true the snowman was simply worried for his friend. They continued with the plan anyways and made a trap in the nether roof where Nufuli would lose one of his lives but hopefully taking Recallingman down with him.

Once they returned, the three of them decided to name 3 of the barrier blocks Nufuli took with him to each one of their initials, Loonac didn't really care what the other two thought, and despite their complaints the snowman renamed their little group to barrier trio. Really creative on his part.

They decided to hang the barriers high above the door leading to the enchanting room, in a specific order, which was Loonac, Nufuli and Dimofyy last. It was such a nice decoration that involved the three of them, Nufuli's tail swished from side to side, again, as he laughed at Loonac's and Dimofyy's way to hang up their barriers. The two were shorter than him and didn't quite reach that high up, leaving their named barriers crooked, they wanted to fix it but in Nufuli's mind it was so much like them it would be a shame if it was fixed.

The three of them finally geared up and went on to finally kill Recallingman, once and for all.

The next time they were at their base it was not so happy, it was crushing and heavy on their shoulders. After all, one of their own was missing.

Dimofyy was dead.

They had failed, Nufuli had failed.

Shame and guilt coursed throughout his body, he really thought this way they could end everything right then and there. Shame it didn't.

The guardian almost let go of everything he was holding when he saw Loonac as he respawned. The snowman looked defeated, disappointed in himself for letting their friend die.

Guilt also weighed heavy on Loonac, so heavy his hands shook. Nufuli couldn't deal with it, with any of this. He wasn't ready to part ways with Loonac, for Loonac to lose his trust and faith in him, so he would prove the snowman he wasn't a lost cause, he was reliable and that he would do anything to keep his last friend alive.

And as if things couldn't get any worse.

They were interrupted by the one guy they had been trying to kill this entire time, the creative player found their base and destroyed anything of value inside of it. Nufuli clutched his fist to stop himself from attacking the self-proclaimed god when he threw Dimo's debug stick on the ground as he mocked his death.

The guardian's self guilt weighed heavy on his shoulders, this was his fault, maybe if he had thought of another plan… Recallingman had finally left, this was his chance.

He needed time to think, he needed to do something, now.

So he left, like a coward searching a solution for a problem that he was leaving behind. He would earn Loonac's trust back and he would avenge Dimofyy, even if it was the last thing he would do.

So by himself he would search for the room that let Recallingman switch between gamemodes, and destroy it, proving himself to Loonac.
Somehow he ended up in the nether roof where Loonac and Dimofyy had died before, he found the white dove's chestplate and wordlessly put it on, it was comforting like the other was still there right beside him. Having the armor piece somehow calmed him down like a weighed blanket.

He explored the overworld high and low searching for the room, but he didn't find it, yet. Instead he found Loonac waiting for him as if the snowman already knew Nufuli was going to be here.
The guardian did one thing before promising the snowman that he would fix it, he gave the other Dimoffy's debug stick.
Then they exchanged a few words, the silence was loud between them… Before Nufuli bailed again he heard Loonac telling him in a desperate tone to not to do anything stupid. He wouldn't, right?
