Summary
Mike hasn’t been doing too well on his own. He has been isolating himself from everybody around him and if that wasn’t the worst thing he doesn’t know what is. Mike has yet to face the fact that he is in love with Will. He can’t come to terms with it because of all of the other things happening in his life, he lacks of understanding towards it. Not only does he have these confusing feelings, but he has been thinking of how terrible it would really be if he was dead. Sometimes he wished for it, because for some reason he felt guilt. The other thing dragging him down was the crippling anxiety that he was facing, or the depression. He felt as if he ruined his friendships completely, and on top of it he thought he ruined his friends lives by struggling terribly and not being able to be there for them. He felt sorry that he turned out to be the way he is. Smelling like smoke, nodding out during class, getting terrible grades, and most of all ruining his friendship with not just anybody but especially Will. He felt bad about his other friends, yes–but he felt like he was drowning when it came to thinking about the separation from Will. He wanted to fix it. He had no idea where to start, and that was his problem. He was too deep.
