Six Pills

Summary:

~Tiny red pills in a big blue bottle
wish I had the strength back then
need to get a refill chase away the evil
all the whispers in my head~

Kenma, just a kid who kept fighting for his life.

Kuroo, the one that helped him do it.

they were childhood friends who had a bond like no other.

Kenma hated life. he felt like he didn't belong, like he deserved to be hurt. all he wanted was to be okay again, whether by death or by some other means.

kuroo was right there by his side. he was there for all his breakdowns, late nights up crying, helping him through days that felt like they'd never end.

Notes:

Another Wattpad transfer! You'll start seeing a little bit of a theme with the titles of my stuff...I am obsessed with music, and have quite a few fics that have inspo from songs. This is another Rosendale inspo one, Six Pills (Which, is still my standing favorite, especially the insomnia version that was dropped, so good. So, I highly recommend you check that out, as there is lyrics from the song in the story summary as well in one of the chapters.

As always, lemme know if there's any tags I should add or change, I wanna keep these as close to accurate as possible. I see the tagging drama all over tiktok and I do not wanna be one of those, the tagging system exists for a reason, and I plan to use it properly.

Also, I am very, painfully, aware of how short the prologue is...I promise the actual chapters after that are much longer.

Enjoyyy!

Chapter 1: ~Prologue~

Chapter Text

How I met him? Easy. We met when we were small kids, around seven and eight years old. He was my neighbor, and I was the shy kid next door who sat outside playing on his handheld. Why he took interest in me? Hell if I know.

He'd just moved in next door to my family. When his parents were ready to introduce themselves to the neighbors, we were one of the first houses they came to. My parents had called me down from my room to meet them. I was introduced to their kid, who was just a year older than me. From then on, any time I sat outside on the front step, Kuroo would come over. Whether we played on our game systems or we did something physical, it was a near daily thing. He's the one that taught me how to play Volleyball. I wasn't a huge athlete like he was, but eventually all I wanted was to make him happy, so in junior high I started playing volleyball on the same team as him.

That's also how I ended up falling in love with my best friend.
