Hugh can get a little protective… No, scratch that, very protective.
You couldn't blame him. After all, he had to watch his sister's Purrloin be taken away from him.
What you didn't expect was that he'd be protective of you as well.
You both were the same age; you knew what fights to pick and what to avoid. You could take care of yourself. But, Hugh didn't believe that. He made stupid remarks about the simple things. Don't forget to eat, drink, be on the lookout for creeps, etc.. It pissed you off more than anything.
Well, till you found yourself losing your pokemon to this "Team Neo Plasma" punk.
When you cam back battered and bruised from the physical altercation that came after he forcibly took your pokemon, Hugh was blinded with rage.
He prompted you to stay as your mother tended to your wounds. You wouldn't look her in her eyes knowing she was heartbroken to see you so defeated and lost. It wasn't just that too. Hugh ran off on his own, he was gone for a week. His mother filed a missing person's report after he was gone for 24 hours.
On the 7th day, there was a knock at your door. Your mother wasn't home so you had to open it. When you opened the door, you found Hugh standing there. Not a word was uttered as he made his way in and wrapped you into a tight embrace. In an instance, you melted into his arms, feeling a wave of relief overcome your senses knowing that he was safe.
"Don't leave this town ever again…"
Huh?
You staggered back after hearing him utter those words under his breath. Up close, you finally got a good look at him. He seemed… Unwell. You couldn't imagine what he had gone through for the past few days. Your hand reaches out, gently cupping his cheek. You tried to ask what happened but he grabbed you and brought you close. His crazed eyes stared back at yours with a broken laughter leaving his lips.
"I can never see you in pain again. Never, no," he rambled, his voice trembling as his grip tightened. "You're not allowed to leave. I'll make sure you never leave."
You tried to free yourself from his grasp… But it was no use.
