Chapter Text
the day aligns where everyone has the night off to hangout, the pairing of Santos And Ellis have chosen a karaoke bar as their choice of entertainment. With encouragement (and a little bit of deceiving) from the others, they are able to convince Robby And Abbott to join them. When they first arrive santos makes a b-line to the karaoke sign up book muttering something about how everyone’s doing atleast one song. As she writes down every bodies name, she also chooses their karaoke songs.
Trinity Santos And Yolanda Garcia -“Summer Nights
John Shen And Parker Ellis - “Since U Been Gone”
Jack Abbott-“Livin' on a Prayer”
Robby Robinavitch- "What's Up?” 4 non blondes
Dennis Whitaker “Love Shack”
Cassie McKay -“Flowers”
Victoria Javadi- "Hollaback Girl”
Frank Langdon-"Someone Like You”
Mel King- Super Bass
Samira Mohan-"Unwritten,"
As their names start to be called off the sign up sheet the air is mixed with excitement and unease, while most of the group is delighted, Robby And Abbott are Debbie downers . Santos And Garcia are first and although their song is pretty basic it’s also a classic “Summer Nights is The karaoke song” santos says into the mic. as they begin their duet they go all out, showing off hidden talent and their love for musicals. They are followed by Shen And Ellis hesitant but excited, as the song starts they make it obvious that they are recreating the pitch perfect version of “Since U Been Gone” and they do it perfectly.
The group cheers them on as they leave the stage and Abbott is called up, he is reluctant at first but once he’s realized what song is playing,it’s like he turns into a Jon Bon Jovi tribute show. As the song finishes the interns start to chant “Jack Bon Jovi” over and over again.
Next Is Robby he was reluctant at first but after a few drinks and seeing Abbott kill it, his confidence is in overdrive. His song starts and he’s doing great despite the occasional word fumble. but when it hits the pre chorus he basically scream sings it. And by the chorus the group is singing along with him,Mixes of drunk chuckling and excitement filled the bar. Soon it’s Whitakers Turn, as he comes on stage you can tell he is a light weight, swaying left to right with a drunken smile on his face. he misses his cue and but when he does start singing it is extremely off key and he is having the time of his life ,Even continuing to sing when the song ends, He is helped off the stage by Robby and Santos.
Cassie Steps on stage for her turn. While she thinks the song is fitting, she usually wouldn’t have picked such a slow song if actually given a choice. She kills it the whole way through, her confidence through the roof. all the girls (and Whitaker) singing along with her not missing a single beat.
Next is Javadi she nervously steps on stage cringing at the fact that she has to sing Gwen Stefani’s “Hollaback Girl” as she steps up to the mic she stutters the lyrics out but as her peers start to sing with her she gets more assured of herself and more relaxed.
Javadi scurries off stage with a happy smile as she sits down next to a nervous Mel. After Javadi is Langdon he is not nervous at all, in fact he’s cocky. Bragging about how he used to take singing classes and that he was gonna outperform all of them, and he did. In another life this man was a pop star. Best performance yet, that was until Mel’s Turn.
Mel makes her way on stage, confused about the song chose for her, but excited to participate. Stanos will never reveal it but the reason she chose this song for Mel is because she over heard her singing “Savage” By Meg The Stallion. Mel steps up to the mic and for a moment they think she’s changed her mind and then she busts out a perfect rendition of “Super Bass” By Nicki Minaj. Shocked they all cheer loudly (with Langdon looking in awe).
Lastly Like Whitaker, Mohan Is also drunk but damn does it make her confident, she absolutely loves the song chosen for her and she makes that known. She steps up to the mic and absolutely kills it. Everybody is drunkenly singing along as they announce last call.
As the night comes to an end they are all friendly bickering about who had the best performance. As they all disperse santos is scrolling through her photos as she views all the videos (possible blackmail) she took of tonight. Including a video of Javadi Singing “This Shit Is Bananas, B-A-N-A-N-A-S” and Whittaker almost falling off the stage both will surely become memes at their job.
