Summary
Gold shifted uncomfortably on the hard plastic chair, a corner driving into his thigh, but it wasn’t like he could do anything about it, they made sure of that. Between the chains wrapped around his ankles, linked to the floor and the others around his waist and wrists, he wasn’t moving much. Today the cuffs around his wrist were extra tight, there would be marks later he was almost certain.
On the other side of the heavy glass partition the door swung open. A petite woman with black hair and matching yellow eyes was escorted to a similar hard plastic chair, but in blue whereas his was red, across from him. She smoothed her bright pink skirt as she sat down, she was always dressed well, as if visiting Gold were the most important outing. The pair picked up the black phone receivers at the same time. She gave him a dazzling smile.
“I love you,” he said immediately, just as he did every other visit.
She lifted a small hand up, close enough that his cuffed ones could reach. He placed his larger hand against the glass, it was too thick to feel the warmth of her skin, but it was better than nothing.
